5. PROCEDURE FOR REPLACING MAIN PWB FOR THE LL-171A/G SERIES
[When replacing the main PWB]
1. REWRITING EDID DATA (RECORD SOGREF VALUE)
If EDID data are different (almost always different whenever the main
board is replaced):
you need to change the model name, serial number and usage time.
1-1. Check Product information before replacing the main PWB.
Record the usage time the LCD has been used.
1-1-1. Turn off the main power supply and then turn it on.
If the LEDs (green, orange) come on, press the [POWER] button to turn
them off.
1-1-2. Hold down the MODE button and press the [POWER] button.
The former model name, serial number and usage time are displayed
as follows:

Record the usage time (150 hours in this case).
1-2. Check SOGREF
If the D-SUB 15 pin analog input signal is the sync-on green, you can set a
threshold value for the input signal.
Hold down the [MENU], [MODE], and [
3
] button and press the [POWER] button.
The following screen is displayed.
Record the SOGREF value (1 in this case).
1-3. Rewrite EDID data according to the procedure for writing
IEDID data for LL-171A/G series.
Write the model name and serial number to EDID.
(Example: The model name is rewritten to the LL-171A-B and the serial
number to 3T0003X.)
2. SET [PRODUCT INFORMATION] AFTER LOADING
THE EDID PROGRAM
2-1. Turn off the main power supply and then turn it on.
If the LEDs (green, orange) come, press the [POWER] button to turn
them off.
2-2. Execute All reset.
Hold down the [MENU] + [MODE] buttons and press the [POWER] button.
All reset is executed and the [ENGLISH] OSD is displayed.
2-3. Read Product information that has been written in EDID
Hold down the [MODE] + [
3
] buttons and press the [POWER] button.
The following screen is displayed.
Press both the [
1
] + [
3
] buttons simultaneously.
The model name and serial number that have been newly written in
EDID are shown.
Press the MENU button to read the model name and serial number of EDID.
2-4.
Hold down the MODE button and press the POWER button.
The former model name, serial number and usage time are shown as
follows:
Check the Product information on the above screen before pressing the
[MENU] button to finish the screen.
3. IF THE USAGE TIME IS DIFFERENT FROM THAT
SHOWN BEFORE REPLACEMENT OF THE BOARD.
(almost always different whenever the main board is replaced)
Enter the usage time recorded before replacement (150 hours in this example).
3-1. Correct the usage time in the following manner:

] buttons and press the
[POWER] button.

3-2. Press the [

1. Press the [MODE] button and select [X100].
2. Set 1 using the [

] button.
3. Press the [MODE] button and select [X10].
4. Set 5 using the [
3
] button.
After making sure the usage time is set for 150 hours, press the
[MENU] button to finish the setting.
3-3. 
Hold down the [MODE] button and press the [POWER] button.
The former model name, serial number and usage time are shown as follows:
The former model name, serial number and usage time will be set as above.
After checking the data are correct, press the [MENU] button to finish the setting.
4. SET THE LANGUAGE DEFAULT VALUE FOR
[JAPANESE].
Hold down the [MENU]+ [
1
] + [
3
] buttons and press the [POWER] button.
The following screen is displayed:
Select ENGLISH using the [
1
] + [
3
] buttons.
After selecting [ENGLISH], press the [MENU] button to finish the setting.
[Check the language setting]
Check the language setting on the version notification screen.
Hold down the [MENU] and [
3
] buttons and press the [POWER] button.

After checking the language setting on the above screen, press the
[MENU] button to finish the setting.
After correcting the model name, serial number and usage time by
changing EDID data, proceed to the next step.
5.
CHECK [PRODUCT INFORMATION] AND VERSION
5-1. Turn off the main power supply and then turn it on.
If the LEDs (green, orange) come on, press the [POWER] button to turn them off.
5-2. Hold down the [MODE] button and press the
[POWER] button.
The former model name, serial number and usage time are shown as
follows:
After checking the Product information on the above screen, press the
MENU button to finish the setting.
5-3.  Check the version
Hold down the MENU and ? buttons and press the [POWER] button.

After checking the version number on the above screen, press the
[MENU] button to finish the setting.
5-4. Execute All reset
Hold down the [MENU] + [MODE] buttons and press the [POWER] button.
All reset is executed and the [ENGLISH] OSD is displayed.
5-5. Press the soft [POWER] button to turn the screen off.
5-6. Press the AC power supply switch to turn the AC
power supply off.
6. SET SOGREF
If the D-SUB 15 pin analog input signal is the sync-on green, you can set a
threshold value for the input signal.
Hold down the [MENU] + [MODE] and [
3
] button and press the [POWER] button.
The following screen is displayed.
Set (1) of SOGREF recorded at step 1-2, using the [
1
] + [
3
] buttons.
After making sure the SOGREF is correctly set on the above screen, press
the [MENU] button to finish the screen.
You can set the SOGREF value within the range from [0] to [9]. The default
value is [1].
7. IF THE FIRMWARE NEEDS TO BE REWRITTEN:
Rewrite the firmware in the procedure described in [How to use the 
LL-171A and LL-171G firmware program writing board].
8. WHEN REPLACING LCD PANEL 
When replacing the LCD panel with a new one, select [RESET] on the
USAGE TIME setup screen at item 3, using the [
3
] button.
The [USAGE TIME] will be set for [00000].
