6. SETUP TO BE PERFORMED AFTER LOADING
THE PROGRAM
Turn off the main power supply and then turn it on.
If the LEDs (green and orange) come on, press the [POWER] button to
turn them off.

4. WRITING LL-171A/G SERIES EDID
[Applicable models]
• LL-171A-B, LL-171A-W
• LL-171G-B, LL-171G-W
[System requirements for the tool]
• Windows 95/Windows 98/Windows Me/Windows 2000/WindowsXP.
• Set the printer port IP address to 378. (Refer to Supplementary expla-
nation given later in this manual.)
[Installation]
1. CREATE A FOLDER C:\FG.
2. COPY A COMPRESSED FILE LL171A-W.
LZH TO THE FOLDER C:\FG.
Expand the compressed file and copy all the files to the folder c:\FG.
[How to use]
1. CONNECT THE WRITING BOARD TO THE PC.
2. EXECUTE C:\FG\LAUNCHER.EXE.
3. THE FOLLOWING WINDOW IS DISPLAYED.
FROM THE CLASS:
4. THE CONTENTS OF PROCESSES IS LISTED ON SCREEN.
After selection, click GO.
5. A WINDOW THAT ASKS YOU TO CONFIRM THE
CONTENTS TO BE EXECUTED IS DISPLAYED.

6. IF THE FOLLOWING WINDOW IS DISPLAYED,
it is supposed that:
1. The writing board is not connected properly to the PC
2. The writing board is already connected to the monitor.
Check the connection, press [OK] and then [Next].

[Setting up the monitor side]
1. Connect the RGB cable (171A,171G) or DVDH (171G) cable to
the EDID writing board.
2. Turn on the main [power supply] switch.
3. Press the Front [POWER] key to turn on and wait until the mes-
sage "No input signal" appears on screen.

10.IF AN ERROR OCCURS DURING WRITING OR
VERIFYING:
If an error occurs during writing or verifying, the following window
will appear.
When Retry is pressed, writing of EDID and verification will be tried
again. Usually check for proper connection of the cable and board-
before pressing Retry.
If the error persists, press Cancel. The screen changes to the next
one. Note that the EDID is not yet written properly.

11. IF WRITING OF EDID IS COMPLETED PROPERLY OR
IF THE CANCEL BUTTON IS PRESSED ON THE EDID

THE BARCODE READ SCREEN AT STEP (7).

[Supplementary explanation]

How to set the printer port I/O address to 378.
1. Open the Control Panel and then click System.
2. Open the Device Manager tab and select the Display by Type radio
button.

Click the "+" mark at the left of Port (COM/LPT) and check that there is
"Printer Port (LPT1), " "ECP Printer Port (LPT1)" or the like in the list.

Resource tab.
5. Deselect the "Auto Configuration" check box and select "Basic Con-
