Q. How do I setup a training Clerk 

A. PGM2 - Setting - Training text/clk 
 

Q. Can I have a network TCPIP printer connected to my UP3500? 

A. Yes, The UP3500 supports network printers. Once you have the hardware 
(TCPIP I/F Card for printer) you need to run the software from your supplier to 
enter the IP address. Then enter the last TCPIP number as the Terminal Number 

in Device Config of your selected printer on the UP3500 
 

Q. The Price Shift Level appears to be selecting an incorrect level. 

A. The reason for this is that Happy Hour is also running at the same time on the 
terminal. If this is the case the 1

 Price Level Shift number becomes the current 

Happy Hour for example if on Happy Hour 3 Price Shift 1 becomes Price Shift 3. 

Please bear this in mind and configure your system accordingly.

 

 

 
79. Removal of Discount line from a transaction. (Void a discount) 
Q. Is it possible to remove the discount line alone from a transaction. 

A. Yes, if the UP3500 has been set to allow voids simply touch the discount line 
in the receipt window and press the VOID key.

 

 
 
80. Removal of Discount line from a transaction after NBal or Final. 
(Void a discount after Table Away) 
Q. Is it possible to remove the discount line alone from a transaction after the 
table has been recalled from a NBal or Final status. 

A. It is not possible to void the discount line once the table has been stored 
away. However you could use the RECALL feature to recall the transaction void 
this and re enter without the discount. (This only applies to ROM Version below 

1.10). 
 
 

81. Last Void Item Only 
Q. Is it possible to void only the very last entry and prohibit voiding other items 
by the operator? 

A. Yes, please carry out the settings within PGM2/ OPTIONAL/FUNC PROHIBIT/ 

set NO ISSUE VOID to Public and limit the other void settings then change SRV

Q. Is it possible to split some items from an existing Table and then transfer 
these to another table so we can continue to serve this new table.? 

A. Yes, just follow the procedure 1. Open Table, 2. BS Item, 3. Select Table to 

be transferred to, 4, Touch Items for splitting, 5. Select NBal or Finalise. 

Q. I have set up all the correct files but the Price Shift is not changing for the 
programmed Happy Hour. 

A. There is a setting in PGM2/Setting/Personnel/Clerk/Page2 Happy Hour = 

YES/NO. 

Q. My system is set up for compulsory Time in for employee’s however I also 
need to perform an Employee Z2 Reset report but it is not possible to take this 
report if the Employee is Timed In. Also if the employee is timed out it is not 
possible to enter the X2/Z2 mode, what is the way around this? 

A. Please follow the procedure below: 

1.  Create a new Employee 9999 (This will be the person who tales X2/Z2 

Employee reset report) 

2.  Time in with this Employee and select a Clerk who can perform X2/Z2 

reporting. 

3.  Employee 9999 linked to Clerk is now signed on 

4.  Take the X2/Z2   Employee reset report  but do not include employee 

9999 (i.e range 1 to 999) 

5.  If you do need to reset the employee 9999 take the report again but 

“Time in” as another employee/Clerk and select only to reset 9999. 

Q. Is it possible to void the whole of the Table after it has been recalled, when I 
select Void ST Void only 0.00 is voided. 

A. It is not possible to use Void ST Void after recalling a Table as you will only be 

voiding the ST for the new entry since last NBal (0.00). 
However it is very straight forward to select each individual line in the receipt 
widow and select void. 

86. Reg Buffer 
Q. What is the maximum size that the reg buffer can be set to. 

A. 255

Q. When I sell a Steak and then choose a condiment How Cooked both items 
print in the kitchen If I sell the steak and then select cancel before selecting the 
cooking instruction nothing prints on the KP  

A. Set 981-B=4 

Q. If I void an item with a condiment assigned to it i.e. Steak and Well done only 
the Well done void prints on the KP  

A. Set 981-B=4 

 
 
89. GT Printing 
Q. Can I stop GT2 and GT3 printing on the Z report 

A. Yes Set 908-A=3 

 
 
90. Customer Account refunds 

Q. How do I perform a refund on a customer account. When I select refund and 
then select the item I get the message 'entry inhibit SBTL is zero or minus' when 
I try and charge to room 

A. Set 916 B=4

 

 
 
91. Guest Print on Transaction report 

Q. On my UP-3500 the Guest line is missing from the Transaction report. I have 
ensured that the Guest is set to not skip within PGM2 - Setting - Report - 
Transaction report - Page 5, but it still does not show the Guest. 
 

A. This was due to an incorrect setting of 919B=7 this has changed in the V2 
manual for V1.10 and above, the setting was changed to 4100 and this resolved 
the problem

A. Yes, this is possible within PGM 2 – SETTING – TERMINAL – INFO.AREA 
COLOUR 

 

94. Price Change Feature (Temp Price Overide) 
Q. My customer wanted to temporarily change of an item for one transaction 
only is this possible? 

A. Yes, on the UP3500 and other Sharp models with RETAIL features there is a 
PRICE CHANGE button, however this only applies to EAN not PLU codes. 

  

 
95. Printer cutting before the end of the receipt 
Q.My printer is cutting the receipt before the end of the print out 

A.This is because the printer was set up as TMT88(4) and the printer was 
TMT88(3) 

 
96. Add on EAN codes 

Q. Is it possible to get the EAN sales report to include the add on codes for 
newspapers and magazines? 

A. Yes this is possible you will have to create File Group 78. 

 

97. Entry Error Can not void 
Q. When I transfer a GLU to a Room, I get the message 'Entry Error Can Not 

Void' and cannot then Void any of the items that were transferred 

A. You must refund the items 

Q) Is it possible for the Dept/Group section of the General report not to show 
the %1 figures, like the UP-700 

A) Yes, On Rom 1.32 and set line 987D=+2 

 
99. Mail Message 
Q) Is it possible to send a message/email to an individual Clerk or is the feature 

only available to be sent to all clerks 

A) No, The message/email function is only available to send to all clerks 
 

Q) Is it possible to change the **BILL** text on the GCRECEIPT. 

A) No, but the text can be turned off by setting 922A should be a 0 or 2
