For this model (UP-800), a 32 character code is 
obtained by accessing the SRV mode, and selecting 
Setting; SharpSmart; Licence code.  This 32 character 
number is relayed to PRS, whereupon a response code 
(16 characters) is issued and keyed in.   
Care should be taken to not cancel or leave the initial 
code screen until after the response code has been 
keyed, otherwise the process must be re-started. You 
may switch off the unit while awaiting the response 
code.  
 
The licence code, once entered, should be saved (using 
the “SAVE LIC.” option) otherwise it will be lost in any 
subsequent MRS.  If at any future time a new Flash 
ROM is installed, a new licence will have to be issued. 
 
The following screens must be selected to enter 
Licence code programming

 

 

 

Select "1 SETTING " and press the Enter key. 
 
Display:  SETTING item selection screen. 

 

 

Press "PAGE DOWN" 
 

 

Select “13 PRS LICENCING”, Press the Enter key. 
 

 

Select "1 LICENCE CODE", Press the Enter key.

It is possible to save the licence code into the UP-800 
flash memory, so that in the event of system crash 
(memory loss) it can be recovered (for example after 
MASTER RESET).

Select "1 YES" press the Enter key 
 

If a failure occurs and the ECR is master reset, it  will 
have lost the licence code. However, if the licence code 
was saved, it is possible to recover it from flash 
memory.

After confirmation, the licence is recovered from flash 
memory.
