Q. What models are supported in POS Utility? 

A. 

XEA201, XEA202, XEA203(USB), XEA213(USB), XEA301, XEA303(USB),   

ERA220, XEA301, ERA410/20, ERA440 

ERA450/S, ERA460, ERA470, ERA510/550, ERA570/610, ERA750 
ERA770/771 (Serial or TCP/IP), 
ERA3300/01 (Serial or TCP/IP)

 

UP600/700 (Serial or TCP/IP) 
UP800 (Serial or TCP/IP)factory roms only 
UP3500 (Serial or TCP/IP)factory roms only 

 

2. Reports 
Q. What version of POS Utility supports the sales report feature? 

A. 

The first Version release of this was V2.02 Build 0746. 

This was released May 2004. Please see questions for 
further updates 
 

3. Reports 
Q. Is it possible to get consolidated sales information from a 
networked ECR system using POSUtilty. 

A. 

No, POSUtility will only communicate to the Master terminal, or a 

standalone terminal, however on the UP600700,UP800 and UP3500 the PLU 
can be consolidated in the master automatically. 
 

4. Automatic downloads 
Q. Is there a procedure to download new PGM program data from the 
PC to all machines in the network? 

A. 

After downloading the data to the Master machine using 

POSUtility, the operator would then perform a 
“Maintenance Download” for the specific job to all satellites. 

 

5. Reports 
Q. The POSUtility is informing me there is no data for the reports. 

A. 

For Reports to work correctly, the database MUST have 

current data for:- 
PLU, Department, SRV Parameters and Function Text from the 
register BEFORE calling sales. 

Once these have been retrieved from the ECR they need not be 
retrieved again unless they have been changed, on the ECR 
 

6. Reports 
Q. Is there any specific settings required within POSUtility for the 
reports to be generated. 

A. 

See previous section. 

Also there are some settings within POSUtility 
Select the “Edit” tab, then select “Edit Config” within this screen 
select “Sales” tab. 

From here please tick both sides of the boxes:

8. Reports 
Q. What is the latest version and what are the differences between 

the previous versions 

A. 

The latest version is 5.01 build 1174 

This is available for download from the Sharp Technical FTP server details 
below. 

 

Username = guest

There are some differences in the reporting 

Now reports Clerk, Cashier, Department (and Department by Group), PLU 
(and PLU by Department) 
for 3 and 7 prices. 
Added a purge facility which has selection the same as the reports. 

Qty 3 not 3 separate QTY 1's). 
 
8. Installation 

Q. I am trying to install the POSUtility Software on to my Windows 7 64 bit 
computer, but I can’t seem to install the USB drivers.
