2.  Requirements for using the ORDERSOLUTION 
 
Hardware: 
 
ORDERMAN® Base Station2  
ORDERMAN® DSP-module. 
ORDERMAN® Handhelds (e.g. Max or DON). 
Host System supporting the ORDERMAN® ORDERSOLUTION.    
DSUB9 / Modular6 Adapter for host system connection (optional) 
DSUB9 / Modular6 Adapter for PC 
Cable for connecting the Modular6 Adapters 
 
 
Software: 
 
ORDERMAN® MenuCardDesigner 
ORDERMAN® OSC (ORDERSOLUTION CONFIGURATOR) 
 
 
 
3.  Creating the MenuCard 
 
The MenuCard (e.g. figure on the right) is part of 
the ORDERMAN Don / MAX and can be configured 
for your specific purpose. 
Use the ORDERMAN® to create your MenuCard. 
(Detailed description for using the ORDERMAN 
MenuCardDesigner see its online help) 
A MenuCard consists of two files: *.bly and *.lay 
file. 
The *.bly file contains the coordinates of the 
buttons on the touch screen of the  
ORDERMAN Don / MAX and the *.lay file holds the 
scan codes and button texts. 
The scan code is a number to identify a button in 
the ORDERSOLUTION. 
The button scan codes can be linked to the PLU 
numbers of your items, groups, cooking instructions 
or functions with the ORDERMAN® OSC software.

4.  Install the ORDERMAN DSP-module 
 
 
Before starting assembling the ORDERMAN® DSP-module in the ORDERMAN® Base 
Station2, you have to plug off the power supply unit. 
 
 
After unscrewing the antenna loose the nut (both counter-clockwise). 
Lift up the plastic cover, together with the plastic ring of the operating light indicator.

Push in carefully the ORDERMAN® DSP-module into the ORDERMAN® Base 
Station2 by using the guiding assembly. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
After attaching the cover plate onto the ORDERMAN® Base Station2 again, you can fix 
the screw and mount the plastic cover with the plastic ring and finally the antenna.

5.  Prepare the ORDERMAN® Don / MAX for the 
ORDERSOLUTION  
 
 
Plug in the ORDERMAN Base Station2 power supply. 
 
 
Press and hold down on any position in the touch area 
Simultaneously, press down the On/Off button until “CALIBRATE…“ is displayed. 
 
 
Release On/Off button and touch area. 
 
 
Briefly press the On/Off button. 
The ORDERMAN® Don / MAX is now in the set-up menu for the end user. 
 
 
Touch the DON button on the toolbar. 
 
 
Then press the On/Off button again briefly. 
The ORDERMAN® Don / MAX is now in the set-up menu for dealers. 
 
 
In order to initiate the update procedure, touch the update symbol on the 
display. 
 
 
The updating procedure is completed when “Finished” appears on the display. 
 
6.  Settings for the host system 
 
Please have a look at your installation package for the settings of your host system or 
contact your host system support. 
 
7.  Set baud rate for host / ecr communication 
 
The default baud rate is 115200. If your host / ecr system uses a different baud rate you must 
change this baud rate by using the ORDERSOLUTION Configuratior. Otherwise go on with 
step 8. 
 
a.) Connect the OMB2 to your PC which has the ORDERSOLUTION Configurator (OSC) 
installed. 
b.) Upload the configuration from the 
ORDERMAN® Base Station2 to the PC by using the 
OSC. 
c.) Select the “Flags View” and change the baud rate to the needed one. 
d.) Download the new settings to the 
ORDERMAN® Base Station2 and go on with step 8.
