Mobile Order Terminal - Buttons

Open Table Button:
Here you can see the number of the current table. Select this button to get to the Select
Open Table Window. This button confirms all changes and transmits the order to the ECR.
This should always be used to close a table. Same function as the confirm buttons

Order Button:
Select the Order Button to open the hierarchical group window / look up PLU (depending
on your system configuration.

Subtotal Button:
Get a subtotal of the table (current amount to pay).

Bill Button:
Open the Payment Menu. (Tap and move up for direct bill, tap and move down for split
bill).

Extended Function Button:
Enter the Extended Function Menu.

Confirm Button:
Same function as the Open Table Button.

Mobile Order Terminal – Toolbar Functions

Undo:
By using this function you can undo your last action except transmitting data to the ECR.
E.g. If you select five articles in the Group Window and you select undo this five articles
are deleted from the Ordered Items List. Select this button a second time for redo.

Category Select:
Select the category (Departments) of the order. E.g. Drinks or Dessert

Direct Bill:
Print directly the Bill.

Search Function:
Search for an article to order.

System configuration Orderman / UP-8x0

At a UP-8x0-system always only one base-station can be used. This also applies an
UP-8x0 network system.

It is recommended to use up to max 2 Mobile Order Terminals.

At a network system it is mandatory to connect the base-station to the Master. The
connection to satellites or the Backup-Master is not possible. For highest efficiency the
Master-ECR should be placed for the least frequent usage.

CAUTION: At systems with high activity at the Mobile Order Terminals it may be
advisable to install the Master-ECR for the exclusive usage of Orderman-registrations to
achieve the best performance. This also improves Inline-performance at the satellites.

At high frequent usage at the Mobile Order Terminal the message “BUSY” indicates
parallel registration-transmission. This is explained by the processing of one job at a time
between base-station and ECR. After automatic retry of transmission from the Mobile
Order Terminal all data is transferred to ECR – no data will be lost.

For your information: The ECR always communicates directly with the base-station. The
data-transmission and –distribution from and to the Mobile Order Terminal is done by the
base-station.
Therefore no direct programming for certain terminals can be done at the ECR.

Report data of Mobile Order Terminals is not provided. The data received from Mobile
Order Terminals is treated like data entered via a remote keyboard of Master / Standalone
ECR.

The communication between the UP-8x0 terminal and the Orderman Base Station is
inhibited during SRV- PGM-mode, Reporting and certain other states such as Table split.

It is not possible to use the same Clerk code on both the Orderman and the UP800, if the
Clerk is signed on the UP800 the same Clerk will not be allowed to be signed on to the
Orderman.

Programming of the base-station

The Orderman-base-station has to be configured via Orderman-specific Software
“Ordersolution Configurator” for the setting of operational parameters.

The baud rate has to be set for the communication with the ECR.

The radio-channel has to be set to equal values at base-station and the Mobile Order
Terminal.

With the “Text Translation Table” the system-texts for the Mobile Order Terminal can be
changed to desired translations.

For detailed information about the programming-options, please refer to the software-
documentation.

Programming of the Mobile Order Terminal

The Programming of the Mobile Order Terminal has to be done at the terminals
themselves.

The same radio channel has to set as set at the base station.

The password for the System-Menu settings at a hand-held is “2545”.

Key-Layout-Definition and assignment

Programming of the Key-Layout of the Mobile Order Terminal and the creation of the key-
sheets is done via the Orderman-specific Software “MenuCardDesigner”.

Each Button is represented by a scan-code and a free definable button-text, perhaps the
desired PLU-name.

This information is saved to the *.lay-files.

Within the Orderman-specific Software “Ordersolution Configurator” these files can be
imported and here the assignment to the articles that have been sent from ECR to the
base-station can be done easily via drag-and-drop.
