NOTE 
The 9th pin on CH1 is used for 5V exclusively. It is unable to 
change RI signal. 
In case of 1st pin and 2nd pin of SP2 are shorted, the 9th 
pin of CH1 output is 5V.   
In case of 2nd pin and 3rd pin of SP2 are shorted, the 9th

CHAPTER 8. PGM MODE 
1.MAJOR KEYS USED IN THE PGM MODE 
User's programming roughly consists of the following three types of programming. 
 PGM2-mode 
programming 
 PGM1-mode 
programming 
 
AUTO KEY-mode programming 
Reports that show the contents of individual programming can be printed. 
The entry of secret codes can be enforced. 
 
[Purpose] 
The PGM2-mode programming is mainly used when installing the ECR or programming the functions that the manager has selected. 
The PGM1-mode programming is mainly used when the store super visor or manager makes daily changes to the contents of the 
programming. 
 
NOTE: Items what can be programmed in PGM1-mode is marked with “O” at the “PGM1” column in each PGM setting item table. 
The other items cannot be programmed in PGM1-mode. These items can be programmed only PGM2-mode. 
[Operation] 
In PGM1-, PGM2-, and AUTO KEY-mode, the text preset key layout is used in place of the free key layout. 
The text preset key layout is described on section 1.

2.MAJOR KEYS USED IN THE PGM MODE 
  Character entry method. 
This model has two types of character entry methods. 
1. 
Code entry method 
2. 
Multi tapping entry method. 
 
1.  Code entry method 
It is possible to enter character code by following 
sequence. 
[00] -> xxx (3digits have to be entered) --> 
And following modes can be set by code entry

2.  Multi tapping entry method. 
Several characters are allocated to [0] – [9] keys. 
It is possible to select character by tapping [0] – [9] key 
repeatedly. 
Example)  in “Alphabet mode” 
"A", "B", and "C" is allocated to [8]. 
Therefore, it is possible to enter "A","B" or "C" by 
tapping "8" key 
Press [8] -> "A" 
Press [8] -> "B" 
Press [8] -> "C" 
Press [8] -> "A" (repeat) 
Then character is determined when any other key is 
tapped. 
Following 4modes can be select by tapping (x) key. 
 
Alphabet mode (Capital) / (Small) 
 
European character mode (Capital) / (Small) 
 Numeric 
mode 
 Symbol 
mode 
Inverse rotation 
When a reverse rotation key is pushed, the letter 
appears in order of reverse.
