This unit can overwrite the program inside via the dedicated cable, using the special software from PC. As this program and the
program of the drive ass’y need to be matched when replacing the drive ass’y, upgrade the firmware of this unit by following the
procedures below.
Procedures and the program version have to be changed according to the contents of service. Upgrade based on the service
information issued occasionally.
* The drive number is written on the label on each package.
Note: After version upgrade, the system must be reset, which deletes all user data in the memory. Be sure to get permission from
the user in advance.

1. Connection

(1) Remove the screw for the connector cover on the back of the unit and connect the cable (QCNWK0001AWZZ) to the

 connector.

(2) Connect the unit to the PC via the RS-232C level converter.

COM1 port .

B. Execute "DVD Version Up. exe".

(1) DVD Version up window is displayed when
      executing DVD Version up. exe.

2. Preparation of the DVD set

(1) While pressing down the PLAY and VOLUME UP keys simultaneously, press the POWER key to enter the TEST MODE.

”TEST” appears.

(2) After selecting “DVD WRITE” using the VOLUME UP/DOWN key, press the PLAY key or “6” key on the remote control.

”DVD WRITE” appears.

3. Versionup.

Click "Data Send" if preparation completes.
When data transmission is started, PC side shows progress bar
indication

When data wanting to stop data send, click [STOP] button by PC.

4. Data send finish.

When a download is successful, 100 %is indicated in PC side.
In a normal end, cut a power supply of the set side after avoiding
the tool.

5. Versionup finish.

Click "EXIT" in download window.
In a normal end, cut a power supply of the set side after avoiding
the tool.

Click "EXIT" in DVD Version Up window/

6. Version confirming procedures

(1) Prepare a remote control provided with this unit.
(2) Connect this unit to the TV monitor and check the version

number on the TV screen in the DVD TEST MODE.
If the new version number is displayed, the operation is
completed.
