Kitchen timer operation  
The alarm sounds after the specified time elapses.
Stopping the alarm:
Press the K-TIMER button.
To cancel the kitchen timer setting:
In the kitchen timer stand-by mode, hold down the K-TIMER button
for 2 seconds or more.
Note:
If the unit is unplugged or a power failure occurs in the kitchen timer
stand-by mode, kitchen timer setting is cancelled.

Press the K-TIMER button repeatedly to select the desired
time.

You can change time between 1 and 60 minutes.
!
To change time by 1 minute between 1 
and 60 minutes, move the operation le-
ver toward TUNING UP or TUNING 
DOWN.
!
When 5 seconds pass after setting the 
time, the kitchen timer indicator will ap-
pear and countdown starts.

When countdown finishes, the alarm tone sounds.
The alarm stops after approx. 10 seconds.

Alarm operation  
Before setting alarm:
At the set time, the alarm sounds or the radio turns on.
This unit has 2 types of alarm functions: "1-time alarm" and "daily 
alarm".
1-time alarm:
1-time alarm works for one time only at a preset time.
Use when...
You want to listen to a radio programme on the day.
(After operation, the alarm setting is cancelled.)
Daily alarm:
Daily alarm works at the same preset time every day.
Use when...
You want to use the alarm as a wake up call, or listen to the radio at 
the same time every day.

When setting the alarm, connect the AC adaptor to the unit. 
If batteries are the only power source, you cannot set the 
alarm (see page 6).

If the clock is not set, the alarm setting is not available ("No 
time date" appears). Receive a DAB station to set date and 
time (see pages 9, 10).

Press the CLOCK button repeatedly to
select "Set alarm ok?", then press the
ENTER button.

Within 30 seconds, move the operation
lever toward TUNING UP or TUNING
DOWN to specify the hour to start, then
press the ENTER button.

Within 30 seconds, move the operation
lever toward TUNING UP or TUNING
DOWN to specify the minutes to start,
then press the ENTER button.

Within 30 seconds, move the operation
lever toward TUNING UP or TUNING
DOWN to select the desired alarm type,
then press the ENTER button.
Tone
alarm:
The alarm sounds at the set time, and stops after 5 
minutes. The volume gradually increases from 0 and 
reaches 40 after 1 minute.
Radio
alarm:
The radio turns on at the set time, and turns off after 
1 hour. The volume gradually increases from 0 and 
reaches the level set in step 6 after 1 minute.

DOWN to select "1-time alarm" or "Daily
alarm", then press the ENTER button.

The power of the unit will be still put on 
(not shut off automatically).

To use a radio programme as an alarm, tune in to a station
and adjust the volume.

To cancel the alarm setting:
Press the CLOCK button until "Alarm off ok?" appears on the dis-
play, then press the ENTER button.
To reset or change the alarm setting:
Perform "Alarm operation" from the beginning (see page 18).
Notes:
!
The daily alarm operates at the same time every day until the set-
ting is cancelled. Cancel the alarm when it is not in use.
!
The 1-time alarm and daily alarm cannot be used at the same
time.
!
With memory batteries inserted, the alarm settings remain even
after the AC adaptor is unplugged or when a power failure occurs.
If memory batteries are not inserted or run out, the settings are
deleted and the alarm is cancelled.
!
In the radio alarm mode, if a selected station is not available at a
set time, the tone alarm sound is heard instead.
!
The kitchen timer starts at a set time even if the alarm is set for
the same time. (The alarm remains disabled.)

To change the snooze time

Press the ON/STAND-BY button to the
stand-by mode.
!
When you set the unit to the stand-by 
mode, " " lights up at the lower left of 
the display.
!
When "Tone alarm" is selected, its 
sound is heard at the set time even 
when listening to the radio.

At the set time, the alarm operation will start.
!
The current date/time and the remaining time appear alter-
nately.
!
The volume decreases 1 minute before the alarm operation 
finishes.
Tone alarm:
The alarm stops after 5 minutes. If you use the snooze repeat-
edly, the alarm will be disabled after 1 hour.
Radio alarm:
The alarm will be disabled after 1 hour.
Stopping the alarm:
Press the ON/STAND-BY button.
 
About snooze function:
You can pause the alarm sound by pressing a 
button other than the ON/STAND-BY button. In 
this case, the alarm resumes after 7 minutes. 
This is the default setting.
The snooze time can be changed.
The remaining time also appears.

select "Set Snooze time".

DOWN to select the desired snooze
time.

Select set time from 5 - 15 minutes by the minute.

Move the operation lever once to change the time by 1 
minute. Hold it to change continuously.

Sleep operation  
When the set time elapses, the unit turns off automatically.
Before setting sleep:
Note:
The kitchen timer starts at a set time even if the sleep operation is
set for the same time. The sleep operation starts after the kitchen
timer ends.

To use alarm and sleep operation together
For example, you can fall asleep listening to the radio and wake up
to alarm in the next morning.
For the sleep operation, connect the AC adaptor to the unit. If 
batteries are the only power source, setting is not possible 
(see page 6).

Press the CLOCK button repeatedly to
select "Set sleep".

Within 30 seconds, move the operation
lever toward TUNING UP or TUNING
DOWN to select the desired sleep time.

Select set time from 1 - 120 minutes by 
the minute.
!
Move the operation lever once to change the time by 1 
minute. Hold it to change continuously.

Within 30 seconds, press the ENTER
button.
!
"SLEEP" appears in the display of the unit.
!
Remaining time is displayed during the sleep operation.
!
The volume gradually decreases for the last 1 minute.

The unit will enter the power stand-by mode automatically
after the preset time has elapsed.

To cancel the sleep setting:
Press the ON/STAND-BY button whilst "SLEEP" is indicated.
 
To cancel the sleep operation without setting the unit to the stand-by 
mode, press the CLOCK button until "Sleep off ok?" appears on the 
display, then press the ENTER button.

Set the sleep operation (steps 1 - 3).

The unit enters the power stand-by mode after the time is set for 
sleep operation, and turns on at the start time of the alarm.
