SYMPTOM Tape error appears on the display due to the following reasons:
1.  The gap between the play arm and the solenoid is not large enough.
2. 
Voltage supply to tape mechanism drops slightly during surges.
CAUSE
Tolerance Limits
ACTION
For models with serial numbers below the one quoted above:
1.  Cut the play arm material (about 0.2 to 0.3mm).  Please refer to the drawing on
page 2. for the cutting area.
2.  Change the resistor R856 value from 82R  to 560R and replace the resistor R851
(33R) with a zener diode (VHEDZ3R9BSB-1).  Please refer to the diagrams on
page 2.  for the component locations.
