Caution items
1. When H-key (vertical pin keystone distortion) is adjusted, the vertical position changes, and V-POS (vertical position)
must be adjusted.
However, when the vertical position is raised too much, the on-screen display no longer can be seen.
2. The item
[OPT 
] (OPT adjustment)
in the contents for service adjustment mode is for adjustment at the plant.
Stay away from this item, as it means adjustment of all items.
3. After entering service adjustment mode, perform adjustment after making notes of the values for each item. The
written values (data) differ according to the set. Using the noted values as a reference facilitates the adjustment.

Adjustment
1. Press the remote control button " " with S-BRT to make the
screen one horizontal line, and then adjust with the [VOL +/-]
buttons of the remote control transmitter so that the waveform
of TLP2 on theprinted circuit board [L] for the picture tube
becomes DC 2.45
0.05V in regard to earth, as shown in the
figure on the right, when measured with the oscilloscope
probe. (For return to the adjustment item, press the button " "
again.)
2. Press the remote control button with G-CUT to make the
screen one horizontal line, and then adjust with the [VOL +/-]
buttons of the temote control transmitter so that the waveform
of TLP7 on the printed circuit board [L] for the picture tube
becomes DC 180
3.0V in regard to earth, as shownin the
figure on the right, when measured with the oscilloscope
probe.
3. Turn the screen volume gradually to the right, and fix it when only the green color shines lightly.
4. Select the R and B-CUT items for the colors red and blue, which are not lit, and adjust with the [VOLV +/-]
buttons of the remote control transmitter so that the three colors shine lightly at the same level and white color is
obtained.
5. Turn the screen volume to the left, so that the three colored horizontal lines disappear.
6. Press the remote control button to return to the normal screen.
7. Select the items R, B-DRV and adjust with the [VOL +/-] buttons of the remote control transmitter so that a
normal black-and-white screen is cbtained.
Use the image menu to change the [Black level], and confirm that a normal black-and-white screen is
obtained.
Also confirm the screen brightness for all channels.
Adjust with S-BRT when the screen is too bright or too dark.
When a normal black-and-white screen can not be obtained, repeat the adjustments 3 to 7.

Adjustment
1. In the menu [Image OFF setting], set image to [OFF] and set the raster to dark black.
2. Connect the
side of a DC voltmeter or a digital tester to [D2]
: (TRX3), and connect the
side to earth.
3. Turn the knob of R712 (high voltage adjustment) and adjust to 4.0V 0.1V.
4. Select image [ON] at the menu. Confirm that the image is free of abnormalities.

H-V adjustment
Prepare
Receive a cross-hatch pattern. ( You must confirm the cen-
ter position of the cross-hatch pattern.) This guide uses a
cross-hatch pattern with 17 vertical and 13 horizontal lines
for theexplanations.
1. V-HET (Vertical amplitude) adjustment
Adjust with the remote control buttons [VOL +/-] so that
the number of horizontal lines of the crosshatch pattern
becomes S.S lines at the top and at the bottom.
2. V-LIN (Vertical linearity) adjustment
Adjust with the remote control buttons [VOL +/-] so that
the interval between the lines of the upper half and the
lower half of the crosshatch pattern becomes uniform.
3. V-SCR (Vertical S-shape compensation) adjust-
ment
Adjust with the remote control buttons [VOL +/-] so that
the grid size of the crosshatch pattern becomes the same
at the center and at the top and the bottom.
4. V-POS (Vertical position) adjustment
Adjust with the remote control buttons [VOL +/-] so that
the vertical center of the crosshatch pattern comes to the
center of the screen.

The vertical position changes when [V-POS] is
adjusted. Confirm [H-KEY] and adjust if required.
5. H-WID (Horizontal amplitude) adjustment
Adjust with the remote control buttons [VOL +/-] so that
the number of vertical lines of the crosshatch pattern on
the left and on the right becomes 7.2 lines each.
