Key features
AS2591 is a CMOS mixed-mode integrated
circuit for driving LCD-displays with 4
backplanes and 12 or 16 segments. It is
controled via a simple 2 wire bus and a chip
select signal. The device also includes a
“talk timer” which starts 5 seconds after the
last digit entry. The timer also shows the
elapsed time up to 5 seconds after the
ON-HOOK transition.
