CIS Control Section
The scanning block of this device consists of a control circuit and a CIS (contact image sensor), and AFE (Analog Front End)
include A/D Converter.
include A/D Converter.
When start the scanning, pin B20 of IC300 will be high level and IC907 turns on, 3.3V is supplied to the CIS. The CIS is driven by
each of the signals (CIS_SP, CIS_CLK, RESOLUTION) which are output from IC300. The analog image signal is input to the AFE
(1,3,5pin of IC700), and converted into 16-bit data by the A/D converter inside. Then this signal undergoes digital processing in
order to obtain a high-quality image in IC300.

Main Motor and Fuser Motor Drive Circuit
1. Functions
All driving forces of printer engine part are supplied by these DC motor.
The Drum cartridge and Paper Pick Unit are driven by Main Motor, and the Fuser unit, Toner cartridge and Paper Exit Unit
are driven by Fuser Motor.
DC motors are controlled so as to rotate at constant speed during printing and copying.

The control of two motor is almost same, so the following description is Main motor control.
In order to start the motor rotation, following 3 signals are supplied from IC300.
1. Enable signal (Output pin: Pin U2/Output Signal: "H")
When this signal is inverted by transistor Q71 and becomes "L", motor recognize this signal as "start" signal.
2. Clock signal (Output pin: Pin U1/Output Signal: Pulse)
Pulse frequency :approx. 2.1KHz (at normal printing mode for MB545 series)
Pulse frequency :approx. 1.7KHz (at normal printing mode for MB536 series)
Pulse frequency :approx. 1.1KHz.(at half printing mode)
Pulse frequency :approx. 0.6KHz.(at quiet printing mode)
This signal is also inverted by transistor Q72, and supplied to motor as "clock" signal
3. GAIN signal (Output pin: Pin U3, Main motor only)
When normal printing mode Pin U3 output “H” signal, and inverted by transistor Q73 and becomes "L".
When other mode, Pin U3 output “L” signal.
By GAIN signal, the motor is changed to the appropriate motor output force.
When this signal is inverted by transistor Q71 and becomes "L", motor recognize this signal as "start" signal.

By GAIN signal, the motor is changed to the appropriate motor output force.
When motor reaches constant speed, "L" signal is supplied from motor to IC300 pin U4 as "Lock detect (LD)" signal.
If "LD" signal does not becomes "L" within predetermined period after "ENABLE" signal becomes "H", or if "LD" signal
becomes "H" during rotation, it is judged that motor Error occurred.

becomes "H" during rotation, it is judged that motor Error occurred.

In order to stop the motor rotation, following 2 signals are supplied from IC300.
In order to stop the motor rotation, following 2 signals are supplied from IC300.

Scanner motor drive circuit
1. General
Scanner motor drive circuit consists of "Motor driver", "Motor current control circuit", and "O.C.P (Over Current Protection) cir-
cuit".
Scanner motor represents FB (Flatbed) motor and ADF (Auto document Feeder) motor.
FB motor feeds CIS unit in FB scan, FB copy, and FB FAX mode.
A one step rotation of this motor feeds CIS unit 0.021mm.
ADF motor feeds documents in ADF scan, ADF copy, and ADF FAX mode.
A one step rotation of this motor feeds documents 0.042mm.
