Use an angled tool.

Gently loosen and withdraw the cable sleeve
that you now see.
3.
Gently pull the plastic cover
the same time carefully softening the glue with a

Now you can exchange the iP
procedure for exchange of iPod connector PCB.
Gently loosen and withdraw the cable sleeves and cables, then insert the tool
cover (with dock connector and PCB) up and out of the unit,
softening the glue with a heat-gun/hair dryer.
