12. Fast Transients/Burst
12.1 Test Procedure
The minimum area of the ground reference plane is 1 m x 1 m, and connected to earth via a low impedance
connection.
The EFT/Burst generator was located on the ground reference plane.
The EUT was located 0.1 m above the ground reference plane and the length of power line between the
EFT/Burst generator and the EUT is 0.5 m.
The cable length between the EUT and the coupling device was as short as possible in the range 0.5 m to 3.0 m.
The test voltage was applied simultaneously between each of the power supply conductors and the
protective earth at the power supply.

13. Surge Pulse
13.1 Test Procedure
The surge generator was connected to earth via a low impedance connection. No presences of an
earth/reference plane is necessary. The surge test was applied to a.c. mains.
The surges were applied between neutral and ground, between each phase and ground and between the
phases.
For each level/line the surges were applied at stepped phase angles with 90º steps.
The differential mode surges were applied at ± 0.5 kV, ±1 kV Line-Neutral and Neutral-Line for
power ports.
The surges were applied with 1min intervals.

14. Immunity to Conducted Disturbances
14.1 Test Procedure
The tests were performed on a 2 m x 2 m ground reference plane. The EUT was located on a 0.1 m
isolating support. The current was injected to each single port separately. For a.c. ports, d.c. ports,
coaxial lines and 2- or 4 –lines balanced communication lines a coupling/decoupling network was used
to inject. On other multiple signal cables a capacitive coupling clamp (EM Clamp) was used for
injection.
Each signal level of 3V (emf), 80 % AM modulated with a 1 kHz sine wave were applied in the
frequency range 150 kHz – 80 MHz.

15. Voltage Dips and Interruption
15.1 Test Procedure
The dips/interruption test is only applicable to a.c. mains. The dips/interruptions were applied at zero
crossing. The presence of a reference plane and the configuration of EUT are not critical for this test.
The dips were applied with 100 % dip and a 30 % dip. EUT was given a 10 s interval between each dip
to recover.
Three-phase dips were applied at each individual voltage with one at a time (phase to neutral and phase to
phase).
The interruptions are 100 % dip-type. EUT was given a 10 s interval between each interruption to
recover. Three-phase interruptions were applied at all the three phases simultaneously.
