3-5-1. UPPER CYLINDER ASSEMBLY
(UPPER DRUM)
(See Figs. 3-5-1,3-5-2,3-5-3,3-5-4)
(See Figs. 3-5-1,3-5-2,3-5-3,3-5-4)
There are two types of cylinders, one that can be disas-
sembled into the upper cylinder (upper drum) and Iower
cylinder (lower drum) and one that cannot. For that type
that can not, replace the cyli nder assembl y as a whole.
1) Remove the two screws
sembled into the upper cylinder (upper drum) and Iower
cylinder (lower drum) and one that cannot. For that type
that can not, replace the cyli nder assembl y as a whole.
1) Remove the two screws
1
(See Fig. 3-5-1).
2) First, tighten the handle
2
of the video head removing
tool (VHJ-0041), then screw the two long screws
3
evenly into the two screw holes
5
in the upper cylinder
assembly (upper drum)
4
(See Fig. 3-5-2 ).
3) Hold the tool (VHJ-0041) so that the upper cylinder
assembly (upper drum)
4
does not rotate, and at the
same time, turn the handle
2
clockwise, and remove
the upper cylinder assembly (upper drum)
4
.
4) Remove the tool (VHJ-0041) from the upper cylinder
assembly

such as 2N2S-V, 2N4N, or 4H6N, as shown in
Fig. 3-5-3. The CH-1 on the lower cylinder assembly
6
has a round hole
8
, as shown in Fig. 3-5-4. Assemble
the parts so that the round hole
8
is next to the code
7
on the upper cylinder assembly.
2. Be careful not to scratch the tape path surface of the
cylinder. After replacing the cylinder, clean the tape
path surface of the cylinder.
