SECTION  4
SAFETY  RELATED  ADJUSTMENT
4-1. HV  REGULATION  ADJUSTMENT
When replacing the following components marked with
]
on the schematic diagram, always check hold-down volt-
age and if necessary re-adjust.
4-2-1. HV Protector Adjustment
(1) Input the all white signal.
(2) Turn RV8001 fully clockwise.
(3) Adjust RV8002 so that the HV voltage meets the
specification below.
KV-HS34/38 : 36.0 ±0.1 kV
KV-HS29      : 34.3 ±0.1 kV
(4) Turn RV8001 slowly and stops its rotation when the
voltage becomes fold-down.
4-2-2. HV Protector Check
(1) Input the all white signal.
(2) Adjust RV8002 so that the HV voltage meets the
specification below.
KV-HS34/38 : 35.0 ±0.1 kV
KV-HS29      : 33.3 ±0.1 kV
*: Check that the fold-down is not activated.
*: Measure the positive terminal (+) of C8002, and
check that it is Low.
(3) Short between both leads of C8006.
(4) Adjust RV8002 so that the HV voltage meets the
specification below.
KV-HS34/38 : 36.0 ±0.1 kV
KV-HS29      : 34.3 ±0.1 kV
(5) Open the positive terminal (+) of C8006 from short
circuit.
Check that the hold-down is activated.
(6) Short the positive terminal (+) of C8006.
(7) Apply 5.5 V between both leads of C8016.
Check the HV falls down.
(8) Disconnect the 5.5 V from both leads of C8016.
Check that the HV returns.
(9) After the check is finished, put the VR cover on
RV8001, and fixed it with RTV.
4-2. HV  HOLD-DOWN  ADJUSTMENT
When replacing the following components marked with
]
on the schematic diagram, always check hold-down volt-
age and if necessary re-adjust.

(1) Input all black signal, and put into Full mode and
Standard.
Be sure to perform the HV adjustment within 1 to 3
minutes after the power on.
(2) Adjust RV8002 so that the HV voltage meets the
specification below.
KV-HS34/38 : 32.3 ±0.1 kV
KV-HS29      : 30.3 ±0.1 kV
(3) After the check is finished, put the VR cover on
RV8002, and fixed it with RTV.

4-3. +B MAX VOLTAGE CONFIRMATION
(1) Supply Power Voltage
Apply the following voltage between pins 1 and 5 of
CN6604.
(AC IN)
(Area)
110 V
110 VAC
(2) +B Voltage Check
Check that the voltage between both leads of C6688
meets the specification below.
+B Voltage = 136.3 V or less
4-4. +B OVP CONFIRMATION
(1) OVP Check
Disconnect the 220 V AC which are applied between
pin1and5 of CN6604, and apply 145 +/-1V to both
leads of C6688.
Apply 220 V AC between pins 1 and 5 of CN6604.
(Input the voltage to the dummy F Board.)
Check that the voltage of pin 7 of CN6101 (Main 12 V)
is less than or equal 0.8 V.
(2) Cancellation of Rach
Disconnect the 220 V AC which are applied between
pins 1 and 5 of CN6604. (Be sure to turn off the AC
power more than 1 second.)
(3) Return of OVP
Apply 220 V AC between pins 1 and 5 of CN6604.
