1-1. AE-6X Self Diagnostic Software
The identification of errors within the AE-6X chassis is triggered in one of two ways :- 1: Busy or 2: Device failure to respond to IIC. In the
event of one of these situations arising the software will first try to release the bus if busy (Failure to do so will report with a continuous
flashing LED) and then communicate with each device in turn to establish if a device is faulty. If a device is found to be faulty the relevant
device number will be displayed through the LED (Series of flashes which must be counted) See table 1, non fatal errors are reported using this
method.
Each time the software detects an error it is stored within the NVM. See Table 2.

Switching
On
the
Projection
TV
and
Automatically
Tuning
The
first
time
you
switch
on
your
TV,
a
sequence
of
menu
screens
appear
on
the
TV
enabling
you
to
choose
the
language
of
the menu screen and search and store all available channels (TV Broadcast).
However, if you need to change any of these settings at a later date, you can do that by selecting the appropriate option in
the
(Set Up menu) or by pressing the Auto Start Up Button
/
on the TV set.

Connect the Projection TV plug to the mains socket (220-240V AC, 50Hz)
The
first
time
that
the
TV
set
is
connected,
it
is
usually
turned
on.
If
the
TV
is
off,
press the
on/off button on the TV set to turn on the TV.
The
first
time
you
switch
on
the
TV,
a
Language
m
enu
displays
automatically
on
the TV screen.

Press the

button on the remote control to select the language, then press
the
OK
button
to
confirm
your
selection.
From
now
on
all
the
menus
will
appear
in the selected language.

The Auto Tuning menu appears on the screen. Press the

The
projection
TV
starts
to
automatically
search
and
store
all
available
broadcast
channels for you as follows:
a)
The Digital autotune display appears on screen and the search and store
procedure
begins.
All
the
available
Digital
channels
will
now
be
captured
and
stored. As this may take some time, a message is included in the display to
inform you of the tuning progress.
b)
W
hen
Digital
tuning
is
complete,
the
analogue
display
appears
automatically
and the search and store procedure for the analogue channels begins.
•
T
his
procedure
could
take
some
minutes.
Please
be
patient
and
d
o
not
press any buttons, otherwise automatic tuning will not be completed.
•
If no Digital and no Analogue channels were found during the auto
tuning
process
then
a
new
m
enu
appears
automatically
on
the
screen
asking
you
to
connect
the
aerial.
Please
connect
the
aerial
(see
page
8)
and press
OK
. The auto tuning process will start again.
•
O
nce all Digital and Analogue channels have been captured and
stored, the TV returns to normal operation and displays the Digital
channel captured on channel number 1.
If no Digital channels are captured, the Analogue channel that is
stored on channel number 1 is displayed.
Your projection TV is now ready for use.

Adjusting Colour Registration (Convergence)
Due to the earth’s magnetism, the picture might become undefined and you could see different colours on the outlines of
the images.
In that case, proceed as follows.
Auto converge the Red, Green, and Blue Lines

Press on the mark
, on the right side of the projection TV.

button.
The
Auto
Convergence
function
works
for
about
10
seconds.
When
the
white
cross
disappears
from the screen, your projection TV is ready for use.
The Auto Convergence function does not work when:
• no signal is input.
• the input signal is weak.
• the screen is exposed to spotlights or direct sunlight.
• you watch the teletext broadcast.

Introducing and Using the different Menu systems
Your projection TV uses an On-Screen Display menu system to guide you through the operations.
This projection TV has 2 different Menu Systems as follows:
a)
"General TV Menus"
This
menu
system
is
available
when
watching
both,
Digital
and
Analogue
channels.
The
displays
of
this
menu
system
will
help
you to alter the picture settings, sound settings etc. For more details, please refer to the relevant sections of the chapter "
The
General TV Menus" (pages 14 - 20).
b)
"Digital Menus"
This
menu
system
is
only
available
when
watching
Digital
channels
and
gives
you
information
on
the
programmes
currently
being show, etc. This menu also contains a submenu called “Main Menu” which allows you to customise the Digital side of
your TV etc. For more details, please refer to the relevant sections of the chapter "The Digital Menus" (pages 21 - 27).
To operate any of the above menu systems, use the following buttons:

Noise Reduction

broadcast signal. To cancel this function, select “Off” instead of “AUTO”.
Noise Reduction can only be altered if you are in Analogue mode.

LANGUAGE
This option allows you to select the language that the menus are displayed in.
To do this:

AUTO TUNING
This option allows you to automatically search for and store all available Analogue TV channels.
This option is only available in Analogue mode.
To do this:

PROGRAMME SORTING
This option allows you to change the order in which the Analogue channels (TV Broadcast) appear on the
screen.
This option is only available in Analogue mode.
To do this:

This option allows you to name a channel using up to five characters (letters or numbers).
