• Please follow the update instructions carefully. Failure to follow the instructions may interrupt the update process and may cause the TV 

set to be unresponsive or to require repair.

• Do not power off the TV or disconnect it from the AC power outlet. Loss of power during the installation of the firmware update may 

cause the TV set to be unresponsive or to require repair. 

How can I check my TV firmware version? 
• Power on the TV set and press the HOME button on the Remote Commander to display the Home Menu. 
• Navigate to the “Settings” category and press OK to select it.
• Navigate to “Set-up” and press OK to select it. (Picture 1)
• Navigate to “Product Information” and press OK to select it. 
• The version number is shown on the 3

• Will my personal settings be deleted after the update?

All of user settings will be kept.

• Can I install an older version of Firmware?

Installation of older firmware is not supported to ensure your TV set remains at optimum performance.

• During the update process, the TV turns off?

It is normal for the TV set to restart during the update process. You may experience the TV set taking a longer than normal time for it to 
restart as it is installing the new firmware.

You need to accept the disclaimer before downloading the file.

1. Please read all the information carefully and thoroughly before downloading and installing any file.

Failure to follow the instructions may cause the TV set to be unresponsive or to require repair.

2. After you have accepted the disclaimer, save the update file to your computer Desktop.

When download is complete, check that the file size is 

xxxx bytes

.

1. To do so, right click the file, select "properties" and check that the "General" tab.
2. If the size information displayed on your computer is different, delete the downloaded file, clear your internet browser's cache

and download it again.

Important notes: 

Make sure that there is enough space on your USB device.
The update will not be performed if the folder structure, name of the folder, or name of the file inside the folder is modified.

Do not turn off the TV set or disconnect it from the power supply during the update process. Doing so may damage your TV set and make it 
unusable, and would require a repair.
Do not press any other button, except as instructed, until the update is complete. Doing so may damage your TV set and make it unusable, and 
would require a repair.
The firmware update process may take up to 2 minutes. First read the whole procedure before starting to update the firmware of your TV set.

1.TV set in AC OFF condition
2.Insert USB device containing “sony_fw_2012_xxxx_yyy_siegfried2.pkg” into the USB slot located at the side of the TV set.
3.AC ON the TV set.
4.Once the TV detects the firmware, it will automatically run the firmware update.
5.During firmware update, the PIC OFF/TIMER indicator slowly flashing amber, 
and the STANDBY indicator is red. (TV will be blank during firmware update.)
6.After several minutes, the firmware update completed and TV will reboot automatically and POWER indicator is green.
CAUTION: During the firmware update process, do not remove the USB device, or switch off the TV set or remove the power.
7.After the TV turn on, Safely remove your USB device from the USB slot.
8.AC OFF and ON the TV set again.
