EVR Data Re-writing Procedure When Replacing Board
The data that is stored in the repair board, is not necessarily correct.
Perform either procedure 1 or procedure 2 or procedure 3 when replacing board.
Procedure 1
Save the EVR data of the machine in which a board is going to be replaced.  Download the saved data after a
board is replaced.
Remove the EEPROM and install it.
(Former board)
(New board)
Procedure 2
Remove the EEPROM from the board of the machine that is going to be repaired.  Install the removed
EEPROM to the replaced board.
Procedure 3
When the data cannot be saved due to defective EEPROM, or when the EEPROM cannot be removed or
installed, save the data from the same model of the same destination, and download it.
After the EVR data is saved and downloaded, check the
respective items of the EVR data.
(Refer to page 6-6 for the items to be checked)

Exif Model Data Check
When you replace to the repairing board, the written data of repairing board also might be changed to original setting.
When the data has changed because of board replacing etc., check the data setting (Exif Model Data) is right. If not,
rewrite to the right value.
Exif Model Data
Writing Method:
1) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 01.
2) Select page: A, address: B6 to B9, and set the Exif Model Data.
Note:
To write in the non-volatile memory (EEPROM), press the PAUSE (Write) button each time to set the data.
3) Select page: 0, address: 01, and set data: 00.

Precaution on Replacing VC Board or EEPROM (IC2303) without Replacing HDD
At the repair, if the VC Board or EEPROM (IC2303) is replaced and the HDD is used without replacement, executing
the “Initialization of AV Index Information” of the automatic adjustment program may cause the following symp-
toms:
• Images recorded in HDD cannot be displayed on the camcorder
• Remaining capacity of HDD is incorrect
When the HDD is normal and only the VC Board or EEPROM (IC2303) is replaced for repair, perform the following
work to make the information consistent between HDD and VC Board.
Note:
• If the images recoded in HDD can be seen after the VC Board replacement, perform the HDD serial number input
in procedure 9) only.
• If the data recorded in HDD need not be restored and both VC Board and HDD are replaced at the same time,
perform “HDD replacement procedure” in 1-4. HDD SYSTEM ADJUSTMENT.
In this case, the HDD is initialized and the recorded data are erased.
• For the AV index writing software “avircst.exe”, search it with the model name and download it from the ESI site.
Procedure:
1) Before repair, back up all data in HDD to the PC.
(The data are not necessarily saved, but just in case an accident such as mishandling occurs during the repair. Be
careful for handling personal information.)
2) After the VC Board was replaced for repair, restore the data to HDD as necessary.
(USB mass storage connection)
Precaution on Replacing the VC-449 Board
• Perform “Exif Model Data Check” mentioned below, and also the adjustment items necessary after VC Board re-
placement.
• If the VC Board is replaced at the repair and the HDD is not replaced but used as it is, follow the “Precaution on
Replacing VC Board or EEPROM (IC2303) without Replacing HDD”.
