POWER SUPPLY DURING REPAIRS
In this unit, about 10 seconds after power is supplied to the battery terminal using the regulated power supply (8.4V), the power is shut off so
that the unit cannot operate.

Use the AC power adaptor.

Connect the servicing remote commander RM-95 (J-6082-053-B) to the LANC jack, and set the commander switch to the “ADJ” side.

TO TAKE OUT A CASSETTE WHEN NOT EJECT (FORCE EJECT)

Remove the front panel section.

Remove the cabinet (R) section.

Remove the cabinet (upper) block assembly.

Remove the lens section.

Remove the FP-064 flexible board and ST-114 board.

Remove the VC-380 board.

Remove the MD frame and mechanism deck.

Connect the mechanism and the VC-380 board by inserting the three flexible boards from the left except the one going to CN1008
(29P, 0.3mm).

Supply +4.5V from the DC power supply to the loading motor and unload with pressing the cassette compartment.

DISCHARGING OF THE FLASHLIGHT POWER SUPPLY CAPACITOR
The power supply capacitor (ST-114 board C8404, 8405) of the flash are charged up to the maximum 300V potential.
There is a danger of electric shock by this high voltage when the capacitors are handled by hand. The electric shock is caused by the charged
voltage which is kept without discharging when the main power of the unit is simply turned off. Therefore, the remaining voltage must be
discharged as described below.

PREPARING THE SHORT JIG
To preparing the short jig, a small clip is attached to each end of a resistor of 1k
Ω
/1W (1-215-869-11)
Wrap insulating tape fully around the reads of the resistor to prevent electric shock.

DISCHARGING THE CAPACITOR

Open the cabinet (G) assembly.

Remove the cabinet top.

Connect the CL8404 (Check land of discharge) on the ST-114 board and the MD frame by using the short jig for about 10 seconds.
