2-2. FUNCTIONAL ALIGNMENT (2)
This section describes the functional adjustment 
procedure (using a color meter) of this unit.
Setup 
 
1. Prepare timing and pattern data for a signal generator 
according to the Sony timing specifications.
2. Connect a monitor video cable to the signal generator.
3. Put Topcon 50 cm away from the monitor, specify it 
vertically in the center of the display, and adjust 
the focus to the optimum level using an eyepiece.
4. Put the monitor and Topcon in a light-shielded room.
5. Set up [SERVICE MODE] of the monitor.
Operation
   
Data is manually set to improve the productivity. 
 The brightness and contrast are set to 50 and 70, 
respectively.  After that, the default data of  
the color temperature to be adjusted is set.
Warm  up  time 
Warm up for 30 minutes before performing 
any adjustment.
Color Adjustm ent 
1. 9300K color adjustment 
--Center adjustment-- 
a. Click "Color Temperature" as " 9300". 
b. Use a 40% IRE white video field in the primary 
mode.
c. Confirm that the "backlight" register data is 0
(100%).
d. Click "Refresh". 
Refer to Table 1 in 2-4 for the default data of 
color adjustment.
e. Adjust "sub_brt_B" to secure the color 
temperature.
    Refer to Table 2 in 2-4 for specifications.
f. Click "Save this color" for a color save at 9300K.
2. 5000K color adjustment 
a. Click "Color Temperature" as "5000". 
b. Repeat the adjustment procedure as steps b to f 
at 9300K.
3. 6500K
 
color adjustment 
a. Click "Color Temperature" as "6500". 
b. Repeat the adjustment procedure as steps b to f 
at 9300K.
 Geometry  Adjus tment 
Adjust "Pitch" to make the screen performance optimum.
2. Adjust "Phase" to make the screen performance optimum.
3. Adjust "H position" to make the screen center horizontal.
4. Adjust "V position" to make the screen center vertical.
5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 to make the picture performance 
optimum.
6. Repeat steps 1 to 5 to secure the current timing of the user.

A. Measurement Condition:
- Measurement point: Center of screen
- Measurement distance: 50 cm
- Measurement Angle: 90
B. Measurement equipment:
- Color Analyzer: Minolta CS-1000 or equivalent
- Signal Generator: VG-828D or equivalent
C. Alignment Procedure:

1. Aging: 30 minutes or more
Burn-in mode: press "BRT"+"OK" then "Power ON"
2. Enter the “Service Mode”.

 Maintains the configuration RGB reset.
4. Initial Data Setting:
a. Brightness: 50
b. Contrast: 70
c. Sub-BRT (R/G/B): 26
d. Sub-CONT (R/G/B): 128
5. Input gray raster pattern
30 IRE (1280*1024, 80K/75Hz)
6. Adjust White Balance (9300K, 6500K & 5000K) and Luminance
(10 nits @ SONY CS-1000) by Sub-BRT
