SECTION  7
ELECTRICAL ADJUSTMENT
DVP-S7700
In making adjustment, refer to 7-4. Adjustment
Related Parts Arrangement.
Note
: During diagnostic check, the characters and color bars can
be seen only with the NTSC monitor. Therefore, for diag-
nostic check, use the monitor that supports both NTSC and
PAL modes
This section describes procedures and instructions necessary for
adjusting electrical circuits in this set.
Instruments required:
1) Color monitor TV
2) Oscilloscope 1 or 2 phenomena, band width over 100 MHz,
with delay mode
3) Frequency counter (over 8 digits)
4) Digital voltmeter
5) Rremote commander (RTM-D107A)
6) DVD reference disc
HLX-501 (J-6090-071-A) (dual layer)
HLX-503 (J-6090-069-A) (single layer)
7) Extension cable (J-6090-079-A)

7-2. Adjustment of System Control
1. System Clock 27 MHz Adjustment (MB-84 board)
<Purpose>
27 MHz is the reference clock for the MPEG system, and if it is
not adjusted correctly, checking of 22 MHz and 33 MHz lock in
the following steps will result in NG.

7-3. Adjustment of Video System
1. Video Level Adjustment (MB-84 board)
<Purpose>
This adjustment is made to satisfy the NTSC standard, and if not
adjusted correctly, the brightness will be too large or small.

2. S-terminal Output Check (MB-84 board)
<Purpose>
Check S-terminal video output.  If it is incorrect, pictures will not
be displayed correctly in spite of connection to the TV with a S-
terminal cable.

3. Checking Component Video Output B-Y

7. Checking S Video Output DC Level (MB-84 board)

This checks signals for S1 and S2 compatible TV.  If they are not
correct, the TV will not switch automatically to letter box, etc.
