There are two major manufacturers in Europe - NAV-TECH and Teleatlas.
The data is very much comparable. Through intelligent compressing methods, more data will

On the CD all motorways, federal highways, regional roads and circle roads are stored.

Yes, in such a way the last 50 target places are set automatically, so you can store all
destinations in a specific order and recall in a sequential way.

Every 6 months an updated CD ROM is issued.

Yes, with every new CD ROM, the software is updated to enhance the data and to add
more road maps of other countries. Priority is given to the neighbouring countries of

No, each Navigation CD contains the operational software for each set; therefore the CD

8) Is it necessary to leave the CD in the CD drive?
No, after the system has loaded the necessary data in its main memory, the CD can be

A day’s route (min. 1000 km) can easily be loaded in the main memory. The shorter the
track, the bigger is the relative size of the map information (corridor), i.e. the bigger it can

The driver is asked to put the navigation CD back into the set. (When it is not in the set).

As soon as directions are not followed, the system will automatically calculate a different
route. The driver can concentrate further on the traffic, because the system will
immediately give new instructions.

The user has the possibility, to playback the last direction as much as he likes. (cfr. left

As soon as a direction comes, the volume of the music, which is played, is adjusted and

A hands free phone can be connected with a special adapter.

The set is fitted with TMC. If TMC will become useable for our navigation system, you
can use it with an upgraded CD ROM.
