SECTION  3
TEST  MODE
1.  ENTER  THE  TEST  MODE
Procedure:
1.  It is confi rmed that the AC power cord is pulled out.
2.  The function of CD is selected, and lid of CD is opened.
3. Hold 
[
x
] button fi rst, then insert the AC power cord  (wait for 
around 8 seconds).
4.  “01” is displayed in the LED display panel. 
5.  It changes from “01” to “05” whenever the [
>
] button is 
pressed.
 
The display number and the content of the test mode are as 
follows.
 
01: Focus Error Test
 
02: Track Error Test
 
03: Display and KEY Test
 
04: Repeat One Test
 05: 
Repeat 
All 
Test
6.  It enters the selected test mode when the [
u
] button is 
pressed. 
1-1.  Focus Error Test
Procedure:
1.  It enters the test mode, “01” is selected, and the [
u
] button is 
pressed.
2.  “FE” is displayed in the LED display panel.
3.  When CD is set, and the lid is closed, the test is begun.
 
The lens of optical pick-up moves up and down (The focus 
search is repeated).
4. It 
is 
confi rmed that TP44 and TP42 (VREF) of the main board 
is measured with the oscilloscope, and the following wave-
form is output.
Checking Location:
1-2.  Track Error Test
Procedure:
1.  It enters the test mode, “02” is selected, and the [
u
] button is 
pressed.
2.  “TE” is displayed in the LED display panel. 
3.  When CD is set, and the lid is closed, the test is begun.
 
It becomes tracking servo off with the lens of optical pick-up 
focus locked.
4. It 
is 
confi rmed that TP40 and TP42(Vref) of the main board is 
measured with the oscilloscope, and the following waveform 
is output.
 
Refer to “1-1. Focus Error Test” for the checking location.
1-3.  Display and KEY Test
Procedure:
1.  It enters the test mode, “03” is selected, and the [
u
] button is 
pressed.
2.  All LED display panel are lighted when entering the test mode. 
3.  The LED display panel display changes as follows whenever 
the [
.
] button is pressed.
1-4.  Repeat One Test
Procedure:
1.  It enters the test mode, “04” is selected, and the [
u
] button is 
pressed.
2.  The LED display panel display becomes a normal state.
3.  When CD is set, and the lid is closed.
4.  Repeat one play is start.
1-5. Repeat All Test
Procedure:
1.  It enters the test mode, “05” is selected, and the [
u
] button is 
pressed.
2.  The LED display panel display becomes a normal state.
3.  When CD is set, and the lid is closed.
4.  Repeat all play is start.
2.  SOFTWARE  VERSION  CHECK
Procedure:
1.  The function of CD is selected, and turn on the set.
2.  Lid of CD is opened. “00” is displayed in the LED display 
panel. 
3. Hold 
[
>
] button for more than 10 seconds.
4.  The software version is displayed in the LED display panel 
(Example: 07).
5.  Display will resume to normal state after other operation or 
time out (around 10 seconds).
