Boards requiring use of unleaded solder are printed with the lead-
free mark (LF) indicating the solder contains no lead.
(Caution: Some printed circuit boards may not come printed with

the lead free mark due to their particular size)

Unleaded solder has the following characteristics.

•

Unleaded solder melts at a temperature about 40 

°

C higher

than ordinary solder.

Ordinary soldering irons can be used but the iron tip has to be

applied to the solder joint for a slightly longer time.

Soldering irons using a temperature regulator should be set to

about 350 

°

C.

Caution: The printed pattern (copper foil) may peel away if

the heated tip is applied for too long, so be careful!

•

Strong viscosity
Unleaded solder is more viscou-s (sticky, less prone to flow)

than ordinary solder so use caution not to let solder bridges
occur such as on IC pins, etc.

•

Usable with ordinary solder
It is best to use only unleaded solder but unleaded solder may

also be added to ordinary solder.

IC3511 and IC3513 on the D_VIDEO board cannot exchange with
single. When IC3511 and IC3513 on the D_VIDEO board are
damaged, exchange the entire mounted board.

Replacement of IC3601 on the D_VIDEO board used in this set
requires a special tool.

Note: Refer to SUPPLEMENT-1 for the A_VIDEO and AC boards

of printed wiring boards, schematic diagrams and electrical
parts list of DA3300ES: AEP, Russian, Ukrainian and UK
models.
Refer to SUPPLEMENT-1/SUPPLEMENT-2 for the MAIN
board of printed wiring board, schematic diagrams and
electrical parts list of DA3300ES: AEP and UK models.
Refer to SUPPLEMENT-2 for the MAIN and TUNER boards
of printed wiring boards, schematic diagrams and electrical
parts list of DA3300ES: Russian and Ukrainian models.
When repairing the set of DA3300ES: US, Canadian, AEP
and UK models/DG1100, refer to either of original service
manual/SUPPLEMENT-1/SUPPLEMENT-2 according to the
set.

Perform operation of the following when the update of software of the IC2003 on the CONTROL board and IC3610 on the D_VIDEO board
is necessary.

•

 DA3300ES: US and Canadian models

1. Connect J881 on the CIS board and PC by using the RS-232C cable.
2. Turn on the main power.
3. The update is executed by using PC.
4. When the update ends, turn off the main power.
5. Remove the RS-232C cable from the J881 on the CIS board and PC.

•

 DA3300ES: AEP, Russian, Ukrainian and UK models/DG1100

1. Remove the KNOB (VOL) ASSY and connect CN717 on the MAIN VOL board and PC by using the jig.
2. Turn on the main power.
3. The update is executed by using PC.
4. When the update ends, turn off the main power.
5. Remove the jig from the CN717 on the MAIN VOL board and PC.

If there is a malfunction, the display shows a code of two numbers and a message. You can check the condition of the system by the
message. Refer to the following table to solve the problem.

PROTECTOR

Irregular current is output to the speakers, or the upper panel of the receiver is covered with something.
The receiver will automatically turn off after a few seconds. Cheack the speakers connection and turn
on the power again.

In checking the Power AMP block, prepare jig (extension cable J-2501-336-A: 2 mm Pitch, 12 cores, Length 300 mm/J-2501-337-A: 2 mm
Pitch, 15 cores, Length 300 mm).
