SECTION  3
TEST  MODE
1.  TEST  MODE  OTHER  THAN  THE  TEST  MENU
This is executable test mode even if not entering the test menu.
1-1. Cold Reset
Procedure:
1.  Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power on.
2.  Press the three buttons [INPUT SELECTOR], [VOLUME 
−] 
and [
?/1
] simultaneously.
3.  The message “COLD RESET” appears on the fl uorescent indi-
cator tube, then turn the power off.
2.  TEST  MODES  IN  THE  TEST  MENU
These are the test modes done in the test menu.
Setting method of the test menu:
1.  Press the [
?/1
] button to turn the power on.
2.  Press the button in order of the [RETURN] 
→ [ENTER] → [0] 
→ [1] → [0] → [SOUND FIELD] on the remote commander 
(Make the interval when each button is pressed within two sec-
onds).
3.  The message “TEST MENU” appears on the fl uorescent indi-
cator tube and enter the test menu.
2-1.  Panel test Mode
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  Press the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote commander to 
select the “PANEL”, and press the [ENTER] button.
3.  All segments in the fl uorescent indicator tube are lighted up. 
And half segments in the fl uorescent indicator tube are lighted 
up, others half segments in the fl uorescent indicator tube are 
lighted up, then all segments in the fl uorescent indicator tube 
are lighted up. These operation is repeated.
4.  When all segments in the fl uorescent indicator tube are lighted 
up in the state of step 3, press the [VOLUME +] button on the 
remote commander and model information is displayed on the 
fl uorescent indicator tube.
 
Each time the [VOLUME +] button on the remote commander 
is pressed, the display changes from destination information, 
MC version, SYS version, UI version, ST version, TA version, 
DSP version, TM version, CLA version, CEC version, SAIR 
version in this order, and returns to the model information dis-
play.
5.  In the state of step 3, press the [VOLUME 
−] button on the 
remote commander and “K 0” is displayed on the fl uorescent 
indicator tube.
 
“K 0” value increases whenever a button on the set is pressed. 
However, once a button has been pressed, it is no longer taken 
into account.
 
All buttons on the set is pressed, “OK” and “K 4” are alter-
nately displayed on the fl uorescent indicator tube.
6.  To release from this mode, press the [
?/1
] button.
2-2.  AMP Test Mode
Not used for the servicing.
Press the [
?/1
] button if having entered this mode.
2-3.  Tuner Factory Preset Change
Not used for the servicing.
Press the [
?/1
] button if having entered this mode.
2-4.  Tone Test Check
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  Press the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote commander to 
select the “TONE TEST”, and press the [ENTER] button on 
the remote commander.
3.  The output speaker is displayed on the fl uorescent indicator 
tube. At this time, the audio output check from each speaker is 
possible.
4.  To release from this mode, press the [
?/1
] button.
2-5.  VACS Level Display On/off Change
Not used for the servicing.
Press the [
?/1
] button if having entered this mode.
2-6.  VACS On/off Change
Not used for the servicing.
Press the [
?/1
] button if having entered this mode.
2-7.  DSP Halt Mode
Not used for the servicing.
Press the [
?/1
] button if having entered this mode.
2-8.  DSP Status Display Mode
Not used for the servicing.
Press the [

] button if having entered this mode.
2-9.  DSP RAM Read/write Mode
Not used for the servicing.

2-10. HDMI 
μ-com Version Display
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  Press the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote commander to 
select the “HDMI VER”, and press the [ENTER] button on the 
remote commander.
3. The 
HDMI 
μ-com version is displayed.
4.  To release from this mode, press the [
?/1
] button.
2-11.  Digital Media Port Test Mode
Not used for the servicing.
Press the [
?/1
] button if having entered this mode.
2-12.  Digital Media Device Port Test Mode
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  Press the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote commander to 
select the “DMPORT DEV”, and press the [ENTER] button on 
the remote commander.
3.  The digital media port adaptor enter to the test mode. The op-
eration of the test mode is different according to each adaptor.
4.  To release from this mode, press the [
?/1
] button.

2-13.  S-AIR Test Mode
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2. Press the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote commander to 
select the “S-AIR TEST”, and press the [ENTER] button on 
the remote commander.
3.  The message “I2C” appears on the fl uorescent indicator tube 
and enter the S-AIR test mode.
4. Press the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote commander to 
select the “I2C”, and press the [ENTER] button on the remote 
commander.
 
The message “OK” or “NG” appears on the fl uorescent indica-
tor tube and the connection of the I2C line between DARR and 
m-com can be confi rmed.
 
“OK” : Connection OK.
 
“NG” : Connection NG.
 
Press the [ENTER] button on the remote commander, return to 
item selection screen.
5. Press the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote commander to 
select the “QUALITY”, and press the [ENTER] button on the 
remote commander.
 
The quality of the communication is displayed on the fl uores-
cent indicator tube.
 
Press the [ENTER] button on the remote commander, return to 
item selection screen.
6. Press the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote commander to 
select the “POWER”, and press the [ENTER] button on the 
remote commander.
 
The output power is displayed on the fl uorescent indicator tube. 
In this state, whenever the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote 
commander are pressed, the output power can be changed.
 
Press the [ENTER] button on the remote commander, return to 
item selection screen.
7. Press the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote commander to 
select the “CHK RFCH”, and press the [ENTER] button on the 
remote commander.
 
The RF CH used is displayed on the fl uorescent indicator tube.
 
Press the [ENTER] button on the remote commander, return to 
item selection screen.
8. Press the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote commander to 
select the “ENC KEY”, and press the [ENTER] button on the 
remote commander.
 
The message “ON” or “OFF”” appears on the fl uorescent in-
dicator tube. In this state, whenever the [V] and [v] buttons 
on the remote commander are pressed, on/off can be changed 
(When EVK is connected, this mode is used).
 
Press the [ENTER] button on the remote commander, return to 
item selection screen.
9. Press the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote commander to 
select the “VER.CHECK”, and press the [ENTER] button on 
the remote commander.
 
The microcomputer version last updated date of the S-AIR 
device connected with this set is displayed on the fl uorescent 
indicator tube.
 
Press the [ENTER] button on the remote commander, return to 
item selection screen.
10. Press the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote commander to se-
lect the “DARR”, and press the [ENTER] button on the remote 
commander.
 
The setting of DARR are displayed on the fl uorescent  indi-
cator tube. Whenever the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote 
commander are pressed, the displayed setting of DARR can be 
changed.
 
“CO XXXX” 
: Connect code display.
 
“NAMG XXX”  : NAMG display.
 
“MUADR XXX” : Address display.
 
“MUCO XXXX” : MU code display.
 
“MUCNT XXX” : Number of connected device.
 
Press the [ENTER] button on the remote commander, return to 
item selection screen.
11. Press the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote commander to 
select the “CH1 PIPE”, and press the [ENTER] button on the 
remote commander.
 
The connection of DARR CH is displayed on the fl uorescent 
indicator tube. Whenever the [V] and [v] buttons on the re-
mote commander are pressed, the connection of DARR CH 
can be changed.
 
Press the [ENTER] button on the remote commander, return to 
item selection screen.
12. Press the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote commander to 
select the “CH2 PIPE”, and press the [ENTER] button on the 
remote commander.
 
The connection of DARR CH is displayed on the fl uorescent 
indicator tube. Whenever the [V] and [v] buttons on the re-
mote commander are pressed, the connection of DARR CH 
can be changed.
 
Press the [ENTER] button on the remote commander, return to 
item selection screen.
13. Press the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote commander to 
select the “CH3 PIPE”, and press the [ENTER] button on the 
remote commander.
 
The connection of DARR CH is displayed on the fl uorescent 
indicator tube. Whenever the [V] and [v] buttons on the re-
mote commander are pressed, the connection of DARR CH 
can be changed.
 
Press the [ENTER] button on the remote commander, return to 
item selection screen.
14. Press the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote commander to 
select the “CH4 PIPE”, and press the [ENTER] button on the 
remote commander.
 
The connection of DARR CH is displayed on the fl uorescent 
indicator tube. Whenever the [V] and [v] buttons on the re-
mote commander are pressed, the connection of DARR CH 
can be changed.
 
Press the [ENTER] button on the remote commander, return to 
item selection screen.
15. Press the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote commander to 
select the “NAMG”, and press the [ENTER] button on the re-
mote commander.
 
The setting value of NAMG is displayed on the fl uorescent in-
dicator tube. Whenever the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote 
commander are pressed, the setting value of NAMG can be 
changed.
 
Press the [ENTER] button on the remote commander, return to 
item selection screen.
16. Press the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote commander to 
select the “ANT SET”, and press the [ENTER] button on the 
remote commander.
 
The setting of antenna transceiving is displayed on the fl uores-
cent indicator tube. Whenever the [V] and [v] buttons on the 
remote commander are pressed, the setting of antenna trans-
ceiving can be changed.
 
Press the [ENTER] button on the remote commander, return to 
item selection screen.
17. Press the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote commander to 
select the “DEMO”, and press the [ENTER] button on the re-
mote commander.
 
The message “ON” or “OFF” appears on the fl uorescent in-
dicator tube. Whenever the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote 
commander are pressed, the on/off can be changed.
 
“ON”  : Demo mode (Mode for demonstration at shops).
 
“OFF” : Normal mode.
 
Press the [ENTER] button on the remote commander, return to 
item selection screen.
18. To release from this mode, press the [
?/1
] button. The setting 
is maintained until turning off power.
2-14.  S-AIR Radio Test Mode
Not used for the servicing.
Press the [
?/1
] button if having entered this mode.
2-15.  UART Flash Update
Not used for the servicing.
Press the [
?/1
] button if having entered this mode.
2-16. Cold 
Reset
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  Press the [V] and [v] buttons on the remote commander to 
select the “COLD RESET”, and press the [ENTER] button on 
the remote commander.
3.  The message “COLD RESET.” appears on the fl uorescent in-
dicator tube, then turn the power off.
