Note: When replacing the remote commander or the lithium battery, be 

sure to refer to the next page.

NOTE  FOR  REPLACING  THE  REMOTE  COMMAND-
ER (RMT-NWS10B)  OR  THE  REMOTE  COMMANDER 
(RMT-NWS10B)  LITHIUM  BATTERY
For the remote commander (RMT-NWS10B) lithium battery, be 
sure to follow the instructions below when performing operations.

When Replacing the Remote Commander
(RMT-NWS10B)
Procedure:
1.  Remove the four screws on the bottom of the new remote com-

mander (RMT-NWS10B), and remove the rear cover.

2.  Remove the lithium battery.
3.  Put a mark on the new lithium battery. (Refer to “Marking the 

lithium battery” below.)

4.  Following “Attaching the rear cover” below, install the marked 

lithium battery in the remote commander (RMT-NWS10B) in 
step 1.

5.  Deliver the remote commander (RMT-NWS10B) for which 

the above procedure has been completed to the customer.

When Replacing Only the Lithium Battery
Procedure:
1.  Remove the four screws on the bottom of the customer’s re-

mote commander (RMT-NWS10B), and remove the rear cov-
er.

2.  Remove the lithium battery.
3.  Put a mark on the new lithium battery. (Refer to “Marking the 

lithium battery” below.)

4.  Following “Attaching the rear cover” below, install the marked 

lithium battery in the remote commander (RMT-NWS10B) in 
step 1.

5.  Deliver the remote commander (RMT-NWS10B) for which 

the above procedure has been completed to the customer.

When installing the lithium battery in the RMT-NWS10B or re-
placing the lithium battery, be sure to follow the instructions be-
low, and place a mark on the lithium battery with a blue marker 
pen.

Note 1: Do not use a black marker pen.

Marker Pen (Recommended):
PILOT Twin Marker (Blue)

Note 2: The photo is for reference only. The actual marker pen may be 

different.

Using a blue marker pen, put a dot 
in the area marked with a dotted line.
Note 3: Do not place the mark on an 
 engraved 

area.

Lithium battery

Since the RMT-NWS10B is waterproof, be sure to attach the rear 
cover following the procedure below.
Procedure:
1.  Install the packing in the groove.

Note 4: Install the packing so that none of it is hanging out of the groove. 

(Refer to the fi gure below.)

Note 5: Be sure that there is nothing between the packing and the groove, 

such as dirt or dust.

2.  Install the marked lithium battery with the SONY logo facing 

up.

3.  Install the rear cover.

4.  Install the screws in the order shown in the fi gure below.

Note 6: Install the screws in the order shown in the fi gure below.
 

    Torque value: 0.10 ± 0.005 N • m
