1.  TEST  MODES  OTHER  THAN  THE  TEST  MENU
These are executable test mode even if not entering the test menu.

Note: Do not use the remote commander. Execute the operation with the 

key of set.

1-1.  Cold Reset
Procedure:
1.  Press the [

?/1

] button to turn the power on.

2.  Press the three buttons [INPUT SELECTOR], [VOLUME –] 

and [

?/1

] simultaneously.

3.  The message “COLD RESET” appears on the fl uorescent indi-

cator tube, then turn the power off.

Procedure:
1.  Press the [

?/1

] button to turn the power on.

2.  Press the [INPUT SELECTOR] button to select the “TUNER 

AM”.

3.  Press the [

?/1

] button to turn the power off.

4.  While pressing the [INPUT SELECTOR] button, press the 

[

?/1

] button.

5.  It turns power on and display “AM 9k Step” or “AM 10k 

Step”, and thus the tuning interval is changed over.

2.  TEST  MODES  IN  THE  TEST  MENU
These are the test modes done in the test menu.

Note: Do not use the remote commander. Execute the operation with the 

key of set.

Setting method of the test menu:
1.  Press the [

?/1

] button to turn the power on.

2.  Press and hold down the two buttons [VOLUME +] and [IN-

PUT SELECTOR] simultaneously (around 5 seconds).

3.  The message “TEST MENU” appears on the fl uorescent indi-

cator tube and enter the test menu.

2-1.  Panel test Mode
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  Press the [VOLUME +]/[VOLUME –] buttons to select the 

“PANEL”, and press the [INPUT SELECTOR] button.

3.  All segments in the fl uorescent indicator tube are lighted up. 

And half segments in the fl uorescent indicator tube are lighted 
up, others half segments in the fl uorescent indicator tube are 
lighted up, then all segments in the fl uorescent indicator tube 
are lighted up. These operation is repeated.

4.  When all segments in the fl uorescent indicator tube are lighted 

up in the state of step 3, press the [VOLUME +] button and 
model information is displayed on the fl uorescent  indicator 
tube.

 

Each time the [VOLUME +] button is pressed, the display 
changes from destination information, MC version, SYS ver-
sion, UI version, ST version, TA version, DSP version, TM 
version, CLA version, CEC version in this order, and returns 
to the model information display.

5.  When [INPUT SELECTOR] button is pressed while the each 

version is displayed, year, month and day of the software cre-
ation is displayed.

 

When [INPUT SELECTOR] button is pressed again, the dis-
play returns to the each version display.

6.  In the state of step 3, press the [VOLUME –] button and “K 0” 

is displayed on the fl uorescent indicator tube.

 

“K 0” value increases whenever a button on the set is pressed. 
However, once a button has been pressed, it is no longer taken 
into account.

 

All buttons on the set is pressed, “OK” and “K 4” are alter-
nately displayed on the fl uorescent indicator tube.

7.  To release from this mode, press the [

?/1

] button.

2-2.  Model Name Display
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  Press the [VOLUME +]/[VOLUME –] buttons to select the 

“CTXXX” (XXX: 150 or 350).

2-3.  MC Version Display
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  Press the [VOLUME +]/[VOLUME –] buttons to select the 

“MC X.XXX” (X.XXX: MC 

μ-com version).

2-4.  HDMI Version Display
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  Press the [VOLUME +]/[VOLUME –] buttons to select the 

“HDMI X.XX” (X.XX: HDMI 

μ-com version).

2-5.  AMP Test Mode
Not used for the servicing.
Press the [

?/1

] button if having entered this mode.

2-6.  Tuner Factory Preset Change
Not used for the servicing.
Press the [

?/1

] button if having entered this mode.

2-7.  Tone Test Check
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  Press the [VOLUME +]/[VOLUME –] buttons to select the 

“TONE TEST”, and press the [INPUT SELECTOR] button.

3.  The output speaker is displayed on the fl uorescent indicator 

tube. At this time, the audio output check from each speaker is 
possible.

4.  To release from this mode, press the [

?/1

] button.

2-8.  VACS Level Display On/off Change
Not used for the servicing.
Press the [

?/1

] button if having entered this mode.

2-9.  VACS On/off Change
Not used for the servicing.
Press the [

2-10.  DSP Halt Mode
Not used for the servicing.

2-13.  HDMI Halt Mode
Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  Press the [VOLUME +]/[VOLUME –] buttons to select the 

“HDMI HALT”, and press the [INPUT SELECTOR] button.

3.  The message “HALT ON” appears on the fl uorescent indicator 

tube, then HDMI 

μ-com communication is halt.

4.  To release from this mode, execute “1-1. Cold Reset”.

μ-com Update Mode

Note: Only when it is necessary to update HDMI 

μ-com (IC3000 on the 

HDMI board) from DMPORT jack, this menu is used.

Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  The jig for the update is connected. Confi rm the jig to service 

headquarters.

3.  Press the [VOLUME +]/[VOLUME –] buttons to select the 

“HDMI UPD”, and press the [INPUT SELECTOR] button.

4.  When the update is completed, “1-1. Cold Reset” is executed. 
5.  Please execute “2-4. HDMI Version Display”, and confi rm the 

HDMI version.

2-15.  Digital Media Port Test Mode
Not used for the servicing.
Press the [

?/1

] button if having entered this mode.

Note: Execute this mode after connecting the digital media port device 

with this set.

Procedure:
1. Press the [INPUT SELECTOR] button to select the 

“DMPORT”.

2.  Enter the test menu.
3.  Press the [VOLUME +]/[VOLUME –] buttons to select the 

“DMPORT DEV”, and press the [INPUT SELECTOR] button.

4.  The digital media port adaptor enter to the test mode. The op-

eration of the test mode is different according to each adaptor.

5.  To release from this mode, press the [

?/1

] button.

Note: Only when it is necessary to update system 

μ-com (IC1002 on the 

MAIN board) from DMPORT jack, this menu is used.

Procedure:
1. Press the [INPUT SELECTOR] button to select the 

“DMPORT”.

2.  Enter the test menu.
3.  Press the [VOLUME +]/[VOLUME –] buttons to select the 

“DMP TARGET”, and press the [INPUT SELECTOR] button.

4.  The message “TARGET” appears on the fl uorescent indicator 

tube.

5.  The jig for the update is connected. Confi rm the jig to service 

headquarters.

6.  When the update is completed, pull out the AC cord.
7.  Please execute “2-3. MC Version Display”, and confi rm the 

MC version.

Note: Execute this mode before returning the customer this set.

Procedure:
1.  Enter the test menu.
2.  Press the [VOLUME +]/[VOLUME –] buttons to select the 

“COLD RESET”, and press the [INPUT SELECTOR] button.

3.  The message “COLD RESET.” appears on the fl uorescent in-

dicator tube, then turn the power off.
