2-1. Installing of driver

USB device driver is necessary for audio data transfer between PC and DHC-

The driver is supplied “as standard” with the OS. The installation procedure is

In this case, please select to use the recommended driver by PC.
If the driver is not found in PC, PC shows a new driver installation procedure
with OS CD-ROM disc on the display. (Win 98SE, etc.)

USB connecter on the BACK panel only can be used for PC connection.
When PC is connected to “USB connecter on the back panel” of DHC-AZ7DM
with USB cable, the input voltage of VBUS (pin1 of USB cable) is detected by
PCM2704 POWER terminal of System controller(IC401 45pin).

Then, PC connection is detected.
When the function of DHC-AZ7DM sets to “PC” with FUNCTION key, System
controller output the control signal to Input select (IC101) to select the source
from USB DAC(IC1).

By playing a sound source with PC, the sound data inputs to USB DAC (IC101)
through an USB cable.

The sound data is decoded and D/A converted in USB DAC(IC1).
The analog sound data output to Amplifier circuit through Input select (IC101).
Please be noted the sound volume is controlled by PC data and amplifier circuit.
If the playback sound cannot be heard, please check PC and main body’s volume
setting firstly.
