 CD SECTION
Note:
1. CD Block is basically designed to operate without adjustment.
There-fore, check each item in order given.
2. Use YEDS-18 disc (3-702-101-01) unless otherwise indicated.
Use a disc copied from YEDS-18 for CD-RW test.
3. Use an oscilloscope with more than 10M
Ω impedance.
4. Clean the object lens by an applicator with neutral detergent
when the signal level is low than specified value with the
following checks.
OP FE Offset Adjustment
Procedure:
1.
Connect a digital multimeter to test point TP704 (FE,Y F X)
and TP703 (VREF) with DC range.
2.
Turn on the power, while pressing two buttons  u  and
 PLAY MODE  simultaneously. “
88” is displayed.
3.
Press the  x  button, then press the  PLAY  MODE  button.
Adjust the RV701 after the message “
82” is displayed.
4.
Press the  PLAY MODE  twice. Adjust the RV702 after the
message “
82” is displayed and “REP” blinks.

OP TE Offset Adjustment
Procedure:
1.
Connect a digital multimeter to test point TP705 (TE,Y T X)
and TP703 (REF) with DC range.
2.
Put the disc (YEDS-18)  in.
3.
Press the  u  button.
4.
Adjust the RV703 after TOC reading.

RF Waveform Check
Procedure:
1.
Connect an oscilloscope to test point TP702 (RF) and TP703
(VREF) on the CD board.
2.
Put the Disc (YEDS-18 or copied from YEDS-18) in.
3.
Press the  u  button.
4.
Confirm that oscilloscope waveform is clear.
Note:
A clear RF signal waveform means that the shape “

distinguished at the center of the waveform.

W or less unless otherwise
specified.
• C : panel designation.
• A : B+ Line.
• H : adjustment for repair.
• Total current is measured with no cassette installed.
• Power voltage is dc 6 V and fed with regulated dc power
supply from battery terminal.
• Voltages and waveforms are dc with respect to ground
under no-signal (detuned) conditions.
• Voltages are taken with a VOM (Input impedance 10 MΩ).
Voltage variations may be noted due to normal produc-
tion tolerances.
• Waveforms are taken with a oscilloscope.
Voltage variations may be noted due to normal produc-
tion tolerances.
• Circled numbers refer to waveforms.
