We have enhanced the operation of the above models to enable them to be switched from
Normal to Standby modes and vice versa by RS232 commands from a PC.

To enable this operation the STANDBY TYPE setting of the Process Adjustment menu has
to be changed from 0(default) to 1.

THIS PROCEDURE SHOULD ONLY BE CARRIED OUT BY SHARP AUTHORISED
PERSONNEL.

With the LCD display and the AVC units connected together by the system cable, power
ON the AVC unit, then power ON the LCD display unit whilst holding down the INPUT and
VOLUME DOWN buttons located on that unit.

Continue to hold down the INPUT and VOLUME DOWN buttons until the screen display
appears

Release both buttons.

“Wait a moment, please” will appear on the screen.

The Process Adjustment Mode will then appear on screen as shown on the next page.

Using the channel down button on the remote control unit move the cursor line down to
STANDBY TYPE.

The default setting of STANDBY TYPE is 0. This should be changed to 1 using the right
arrow navigation key, next to the ENTER button on the remote control unit.

Be careful not to change any other line values.

Having changed this value power the units OFF and ON again to return to normal
operation.

The RS232 commands, POWR0_ _ _and POWR1_ _ _ (where _ represents a space) will
then enable the unit to be switched from normal operation to STANDBY mode and from
STANDBY mode to normal operation, respectively
