“ANALOGUE”
Software Updating
1. Controlling the software-version in the service mode
- Enter the service mode by pressing “menu“ button on the set.
- The menu appears. Step down with the cursor buttons on the remote control
until “service” is reached.
- Within 1 second you have to press the “menu” button on the remote control.
- The service menu appears.
- Within the first line you find the current software version.
2. What is needed :
- Software „Starter_298“, (on your training DVD/CD; within InfoTip etc.)
- Cable RS 232 (cross type) with adaptor and
- the latest software file. (…. .elf) (on your training DVD/CD; within InfoTip etc.)
3. Installation “starter_298”

- Unzip the “starter_298” software into a new file on your PC maybe
“Sharp updates”
- Open the file,
- double click on “starter.exe”
- sometimes an error message appears, please ignore and press “OK” on it
- the following screen appears:
- first click “options” and then “preferences”

- the following appears:
-
set the com-port number and communication type
- click “change”
- the following appears:
- set the rate to 9600, confirm the other settings and press “OK”
- the following appears again:

- now press the “download” button
- the following appears:
- click the browse button and set the path to the file which contains the software file
- click the browse button and select the software file (… .elf)
- set to “VGC stepB” , set to “16MB” , set to “64MB” and remove the tick
- set “simple”, if the software file (… .elf) is zipped, please unzip!
- set to both lines (CBus boot and CBus flash) the path of :
“VGC_5969B_A3_evalboard_uart_flash_13Apr_2006.txt”
- You will find this in : … :\Starter_298\Configs\VGC_5969B_A3
