SYMPTOM Intermittent failure of the line output transistor.
CAUSE
Various components in the horizontal stage.
ACTION
When it is found that the line output transistor is short circuit, the following
components should be checked and/or replaced:
!  C607 - this capacitor normally goes leaky leading to intermittent failure of the line
output transistor, Q602.
!  D602 and D605 can also cause intermittent failure of Q602, but normally they do
not read faulty.
!  L601 goes open circuit leading to Q602 getting very hot, then failing.  When
checking L601, note that there is a 22R resistor in parallel with it.
!  C613 may go dry jointed as well as the connections to the scan coils (both ends of
the connecting wire). C613 sometimes needs to be replaced.
!  Q601 can cause Q602 to fail.
