NVM Data and reprogramming
Modern CTV receivers use NVM (eeproms) to store service and customer preference data.  As the data stored is vital to
the CTV’s functionality, if faults occur it is often difficult to determine if the problem is due to hardware or software (data
corruption) failure.
In such cases it is helpful to be able to identify which situation is present.  This is achieved by ensuring that the NVM
contains correct data. If the NVM is loaded with a working set of default values the CTV will either work (if data
corruption was the problem) or remain faulty (if a hardware defect is present).
We have provided NVM data files on this web site, which can be downloaded and programmed into the NVM mounted
in the CTV or to another device.
The 'Eprom and NVM data' files can be found under each applicable model.  File formats are identified as ‘.iic’ in the
case of NVMs, and ‘.hex’ in the case of Eproms.
Note:-
Adjustments:
Due to tolerances between CTV's.  Some adjustment may have to be made.  Particular attention should be given to the
following:
i. 
Picture sizing (see service manual)
ii. 
AFT offset (see service manual)
iii. 
SCART and AV level prescaling (where applicable a bulletin is supplied on the website)

Procedure
Programming NVMs in the Television Set
You will require:
1. A 
PC 
(minimum specification 386 or better)
2.  Software to download to the NVM software. (provided on our website as described above)
3.  Software to address the NVM and read the data.  (see 
(a)
 below)
4.  A hardware buffer connected between your PC printer port and the NVM in the television.  (See 
(b)
 below)
5.  A connector to make contact with the NVM (see 
(c)
 below).

committed to providing Data for all future models, continue to help you with each successive model.
In addition there is no reason why you will not be able to add to your own portfolio of NVM data if you extract it from
working units as you come across them.
Additional Notes :
1.  We have found it beneficial to reduce the spring tension of the clip by cutting two turns off the spring and moving
the spring closer to the pivot point of the clip.
2.  With models where 2 NVMs (Dolby Models e.g. 76FW54H) are fitted it is necessary to lift the ‘Data’ (pin5) of the
print of the second NVM. If this is not done it is possible to read the NVM but not to write (contention occurs on Data
line).
3.  With the GA-1E chassis (21HT15H) It is necessary to remove R1035 and R1033 (100R surface mount) before
successful writing can occur.
4.  With the GA20 chassis (28/32JW73H) it is necessary to remove R1036 and R1038 (100R surface mount) before
successful writing can occur.
5.   When programming NVM's on later chassis, it is important to note the supply voltage.  This is normally 3.3V, and if a
