MX-M1100 SELF DIAG AND TROUBLE CODE  8 – 1
MX-M1100
Service Manual

[8] SELF DIAG AND TROUBLE CODE
1. Self diag
When an error occurs in the machine or when the life of a consum-
able is nearly expired or expired, the machine detects and displays
the particular issue on the operation panel.  This allows the service
person to take suitable action to resolve the issue.  In case of a
trouble code, the machine logs the error and stops the machine to
minimize damage.
A. Function and purpose
1)
Securing machine safety. (The machine is stopped on detec-
tion of a problem.)
2)
The damage to the machine is minimized. (The machine is
stopped on detection of a problem.)
3)
By displaying the area of trouble, the trouble position can be
quickly identified. (This allows the service person to perform an
accurate repair, improving the repair efficiency.)
4)
Advance warning of consumable - end of part life avoids stop-
ping of the machine due to consumable life end and allows for
ordering the proper parts for installation.
B. Self diag message kinds
The self diag messages are classified as shown in the table below.
C. Self diag operation and related work flow
The machine always monitors its state of operation.
When the machine recognizes a problem, it stops the operation
and displays the trouble message.
A warning message is displayed when a consumable part life is
nearly expired or is expired.
When a warning message is displayed, the machine may or may
not stop depending upon the situation.
The trouble messages and the warning messages are displayed by
the LCD.
Some trouble messages are automatically cleared when the trou-
ble is repaired. Some other troubles messeges must be cleared by
a simulation.
Some warning messages of consumable parts are automatically
cleared when the consumable is replaced. Some other warning
messages must be cleared by a simulation.
Class 1

Warning of troubles which can be recovered by
the user. (Paper jam, consumable part life

by a serviceman. (Motor trouble, maintenance,
etc.)

[Writing to the trouble memory]
When a trouble of the same kind occurs, Sim. 26-35 is used to select whether the trouble is written into the trouble memory or not. When this
simulation is set, the trougle is written into the trouble memory uncoditionally.
(Sim. 26-35)
0: Only once. If same as the previous one, it is not saved. (Default)
