TECHNICAL BULLETIN 
COUNTERMEASURE FOR TONER 
CONTAMINATION ON CENTRE OF BACK 
SIDE OF PAPER 
 
1. Model Name: 
MX-FN10/FN11/FN18 (Option for MX-M365N/M465N/M565N/M364N/M464N/M564N) 
 
2. Symptom: 
When using the finisher (MX-FN10/FN11/FN18) for   
 
 
MX-M365N/M465N/M565N/M364N/M464N/M564N, the contamination by toner is   
 
 
generated on the centre of the backside of the paper in very rare cases depending on the   
 
 
print chart, density, paper type, print timing etc… 
 
3. Field Action: 
If the symptom above is caused, please perform the remedy below: 
 
 
(1)For the control of the fusing temperature, the adjustment control at the time of   
 
 
  warm-up has been added. 
 
 
  (When the temperature of fusing roller is 60-degree or lower, perform the adjustment   
 
 
  control from +5 degree s to +10 degrees for the default temperature adjustment control,   
 
 
  depending on the temperature/humidity environment.) 
 
 
   - Execute Soft SW

(2)If the remedy above does not work enough, the spring which enables to reduce the   
 
 
  pressing force of delivery roller has been set up as the service parts for the field   
 
 
  support.    Please replace/add the parts accordingly. 
 
 
  (For the installation procedure, see the attached file.) 
 
 
If MX-FN10/FN11/FN1 is used for the models other than   
 
 
MX-M365N/M465N/M565N/M364N/M464N/M564N, please do not take this measure. 
 
 
(The side effect like a problem of consistency could be caused.)

- Use 2pcs (0CW4S523880//) for MX-FN10 
 
 
 
 
 
- Use 2pcs (0CW4S523910//) for MX-FN11/FN18 
 
 
 
 
1. Open the upper cover.
2. Remove the upper cover stay
Open  the upper guide more than 90-degree 
     Unfasten the screws (x 2) and remove the upper cover stay.
while pushing it forward.
Springs that should be replaced.
3. Replace the springs.
Springs for countermeasure (x 2)
(3-1) Remove the current springs.
(3-2) Mount the springs for countermeasure.

FN10 Spring  Replacement Procedure 
Lower hook  
Upper hook 
Section where to hook. 
(The plate springs of the rear side are fastened 
together.  When removing  the upper cover stay 
please be careful not to drop the plate springs.)  
Unhook the lower hook of the spring that is mounted.  
Then pull the upper hook from the shaft and take it off. 
Dispose of the removed springs. 
Hook the lower hook. 
4. Mount the upper cover stay.
Rear side: Plate spring + screw

Mount the upper cover.
Front side: Screw (x1)
Close the upper cover.
Be sure not to forget to set the shaft 
of actuator.
Replaced springs. 
Hook the springs to the outer side than the springs at the opposite side that 
are hooked on the same shaft. 
Hook the upper hook to the shaft.
