Description
: 
 
 
In following the procedures for installing MX-PB11 (printer kit) MX-
M363U/M453U/M503U, an error code “U2-22” is displayed when the power is turned on 
after the ROM and HDD are installed. 
 
 
Display of the “U2-22” error code is not caused by a machine fault. Cancel the 
error by simulation 16. 
 
(Description of the “U2-22” error code being displayed after installation of the 
printer kit MX-PB11) 
The “U2-22” error code is displayed upon installing MX-PB11 because 
memory management tables are different condition without MX-PB11 and 
with MX-PB11 (with HDD) on MX-M363U/M453U/M503U. After that, the 
memory management table is automatically formatted to adapt to conditions 
with MX-PB11 installed. However, since “U2-22” error code remains 
displayed, the display must be cancel by simulation 16. 
 
The description presented above is reflected as attached sheet. Which is MX-
PB11 installation procedures, on the MX-M363U/M453U/M503U Installation 
Manual, page 15-3.

Description of the installation procedures for the printer kit MX-PB11 after revision, “G. 
Preparation for enabling the MX-PB11” 
 
G. Preparation for enabling the MX-PB11 
1) To enable the MX-PB11, enter the product key by the key operation of the copier 
machine. 
a) Turn on the power. 
b) Error code U2-22 is displayed. 
NOTE: U2-22 error in this case is displayed upon initializing memory data inside the 
machine, and not one displayed due to a machine fault. 
c) Cancel the error code U2-22 with simulation 16. 
(The product key input menu is displayed.) 
d) Enter the product key with numeric key (10-key), and touch the [Registration] 
key. 
 
2) After the product key has been entered, turn OFF the power switch on the operation 
panel.  
Turn OFF the main power switch, then turn ON the power switch and the main power 
switch again. 
 
3) Use the attached CD-ROM to install the driver. 
For installing procedures, refer to the software setup guide. 
Installation of the driver must be performed by the user or the serviceperson with 
assistance of the user. 
 
NOTE:
