Correction of size
illegal jam

If the paper size is different from the size detected by the machine, it used to be handled
as the illegal jam.  Modification has been implemented not to handle it as the jam but to
output it as the invalid paper and display the message "Please check the paper size".

On the system with the options of Finisher Desk etc, it is necessary to upgrade the
version of firmware for those options at the same time.

Value of Colour
Balance Manual
Adjustment cannot be
reflected into User
Auto Calibration

On Colour Balance Manual Adjustment, modification has been implemented to reflect the
adjustment value after the manual adjustment and the value after conducting Half Tone
Density Correct Execution into User Auto Calibration.

Even before this change is implemented, there’s no problem for the users who adjust the
colour balance only with Auto.

Fax Reception
sometimes fails in
1W Energy Save
Mode

Under the conditions of "1W Energy Save Mode", "Auto Switch of TEL/FAX: ON",
"Number of Auto Reception Call: less than twice", and "External Telephone
Setting/Connecting Optional Receiver: ON", when recovering from Energy Save Mode
after Fax reception, there were some cases where Fax reception could not be done due
to the time-out from FAXBOX side.

Some areas where possibly takes time for processing on the firmware of the main unit
has been corrected, and the setting of time-out to receive the notification of
"Communication Start" has been changed from 10secs to 33secs on the firmware of
FAXBOX side.

Change of the default
value of the
Softswitch (SSW31-
5)

In Transaction Report for PC-FAX, the default value of the softswitch (SSW31-5) for the
setting whether to print the sent image into Transaction Report has been changed from
"0:No Print" to "1:Print".

Correction of problem
that the blank page is
outputted when
copy/Fax/print job is
taken place

(MX-4500/4501 only)

In order to allocate the margin against the rotating defect of the drum and belt motor, the
control of acceleration/deceleration of the drum motor has been modified.

Modification has been implemented to stop the job as PPD2_N1 jam, and not to output
the blank page when the rotating defect of the drum motor occurs during printing, and at
this time only F2 error will be displayed, and the history will be recorded as  "F2-50" or
"F2-51" in SIM22-4.

Change of the default
value of SIM43-1

For the countermeasure to improve the jam in the fusing unit, ACDFGJ value of SIM43-1
was set to "Current Default Value: -10

" at the point of production, but this time, the

default value itself has been changed to "Current Default Value: -10

".

Since some of the users might change this setting, it won't be changed by this version
upgrade however this value will be changed back to the default by resetting the
destination.

Change of the timing
when the process
control is conducted.

Modification has been implemented not to operate the process control until the job end or
until the point when ageing of 100 pages is completed.  As for the jobs less than 100
pages, the messages "Print quality is being automatically adjusted" or "Automatically
adjusted" will be no longer displayed by this modification.

If it requires long time for RIP processing of print data when printing, process control may
operate, and "Print quality is being automatically adjusted" or "Automatically adjusted"
may be displayed.

Counter information
from E-RIC
sometimes is not
notified correctly.

Problem that the invalid count value is notified only if the user whose count value is "20"
existed when counting "User information" from E-RIC has been corrected.

This issue is involved in only the Notification Processor of E-RIC, so there's no problem
on the count value on the main unit.

Addition of specifying
time for the
secondary transfer
cleaning.

(Support for SIM44-
28)

The timing of the secondary transfer cleaning has been changed from every 10 pages to
every 200 pages, and controlled not to show "Automatically adjusted" message.   Items
of P･ Q･ R have been added in SIM44-28, and it enables to change the threshold level
which judges the timing for the second transfer cleaning.

Default values are; "P : 200, Q : 300, R : 500", and Cleaning Time is 10 sec when pages
are more than 200, 22 sec when pages are more than P and less than 300, 33 sec when
pages are more than 500, and the cleaning is not conducted when pages are less than
200.

Support is provided
for MX-PEX1(EFI)

Support is provided for EFI controller MX-PEX1.  When installing MX-PEX1, the firmware
of this version has to be upgraded.

Stabilisation of the
image density when
copying multiple
pages

The problem was caused by the slight changes of the drum surface potential when
copying multiple pages.

Reduction of the density had no effect in practical use however modification has been
implemented to correct the developing bias, and stabilise the density depending on the
drum's running distance when copying multiple pages.

This feature will be operated automatically as the default after version upgrade of the
firmware.

Correction of 4mm
wide uneven colour
occurred every 95mm
pitch

In cold climate areas, if the sudden environmental changes occurs inside the machines
at chill of morning or by the heating condition afterward, the concentration difference is
generated between the exposed area of the drum when the drum stops and is on standby
and the sealed area for 4 mm wide, and this might cause the uneven colour or uneven
pitch.  Modification has been implemented to avoid to leave the drum stopping at the
same position, and to reduce the concentration difference by letting the drum idle for
2minutes after power ON the machine when the temperature is low, and rotate the drum
approximately 60 degrees (approx.0.2 sec) every 3 minutes while the machine is getting
ready afterward.  Please support individually only the users who are suffering from this
trouble with turning ON the Soft Switch of the engine.  (sim.55-1 : Set No.5 to 10000000)

Correction to enable
to find the server with
the Server Name
when Scan-To-SMB

Scan data might not be stored in the shared-folder on the server which was located
outside of the segment where MX series were placed.  If you do not specify the server
name but specify IP address directly as the destination of SMB sending, Scan data can
be saved correctly in the shared-folder on the specified server.  In addition, it has no
effect on the operations of existing Scan-To-E-mail, Scan-To-FTP and Scan-To-Desktop.

Correction of output
defect printing  in
MacOS9.2
environment OS9.2
caused by
MX2700FG (PS error)

When printing the data which has Bitmap image with binary format from Illustrator 10.0.3
in MacOS environment, PS error occasionally occurred during analysis of binary image
data.  Modification has been implemented to corrected to print out correctly without PS
error.

(CCJU-6)

Administration
Settings link is
missing in imager
webpage (CSCJ-2)

Since determining whether to display each setting item of WEB Page was not conducted
correctly, "Administration Settings" of “Inbound Routing Setting” might not be displayed.
Modification has been implemented to determine correctly whether to display each
setting item of WEB Page.

The amount of correction for manual 1 was insufficient compared to the amount of
correction for possible Suppress Background when conducting AE copy in B/W.

Modification has been implemented with expanding the amount of correction for
Suppress Background to manual 1.

Specification change
of the Hold Setting for
a 1 minute of FAX
Auto Clear

When the checkbox of [Hold Setting for a While after Scanning Has Been Completed] is
ON in the Default Display Settings of the System Settings, contents of the settings can be
maintained for the certain time.

Receiving the report that the fax original was delivered not only the desired destination
but also to the previous destination too when sending the fax original to another
destination within 60seconds after the previous FAX sending, the specification was
reviewed.  Then the modification has been implemented not to memorise the destinations
even if the checkbox is ON.

Correction of the
problem that the
machine hang up just
after FAX sending
was conducted after
283 days under the
condition of running
24 hours

If the operation of FAX sending was conducted after 283 days or more since 1W Energy-
Saving Mode had been OFF and the machine was not powered off with connected to the
network, there were some cases where the key input was not available any more, and
FAX sending could not be done.

Please note that receiving the fax and printing from the printer was possible even if this
phenomenon occurred.

controller initialisation
Sim (Sim67-17)

Printer controller initialisation Sim (Sim67-17) has been added to cope with the necessity
of printer NVRAM area initialisation in market.
