Accessing the Fiery X3eTY2

Make sure that the Fiery Settings screen reads Idle.
If Printing, Processing, or RIPping appears, the Fiery X3eTY2 is processing a job, and
you must wait until the system finishes and reaches Idle state.

Press the menu button to display the Functions menu.
4.
Use the down button to scroll to Shut Down. Use the line selection button to select
Shut Down.

The Shut Down menu appears with the following options:
• Restart Server: Resets the Fiery X3eTY2 server software without resetting the
underlying operating system.
• Shut Down System: Shuts down the Fiery X3eTY2 properly so that you can safely
power off the Fiery X3eTY2.
• Reboot System: Resets both the Fiery X3eTY2 and the underlying operating system,
and then reboots the Fiery X3eTY2.
5.
Use the line selection button to select Shut Down System.
6.
When a message appears prompting you to check the controller power switch or power
off the controller, press OK.

Move the power switch on the Fiery X3eTY2 to the Off (O) position (see Figure D).

Remove all external cables that are connected to the Fiery X3eTY2.

Loosen the two upper mounting screws that secure the Fiery X3eTY2 to the back of the
MFP (see Figure E).

Lift up to release the Fiery X3eTY2 from the upper mounting screws. Remove the

Place the Fiery X3eTY2 on a flat surface.

Remove the eight screws that secure the cover to the Fiery X3eTY2 pan (see Figure F).
Set aside the screws so that you can replace them later.

The most common causes of problems are faulty and loose connections. Before you
conclude that any internal component has failed, remove, inspect, and reseat all
appropriate connections, and then verify that the problem still occurs.

Access and open the Fiery X3eTY2 (see page 8).
2.
Place the Fiery X3eTY2 on a flat surface so that internal components are facing up.

Verify that the battery is properly installed (see page 18).
4.
Inspect the HDD data cable to make sure it is intact.
Faulty data cables are easily overlooked. Check the contact point between the cable and
the connector to ensure that they have not separated. If a data cable is suspect, substitute
it with a tested cable.

5.
Check the cables of the exhaust fan and the CPU fan.
Make sure that the cables are intact.

Check the service board cable.
Make sure that the cable is intact and properly connected to the service board and the

Verify that the internal power cables are intact and properly connected to the power
supply, HDD, motherboard, and Fiery X3eTY2 power switch.
