e. Removal of left upper cover
1) Remove the two screws [1].
2) With the upper door [2] open, tilt the left upper cover [3] to the
right, and remove it.
CAUTION: When installing, be sure to engage the two pawls [4] of
the left upper cover with the metal plates.
f. Removal of grate-shaped upper guide
1) Move down the tray [1] lower than the grate-shaped upper
guide [2]. (For moving of the tray, refer to "Removal of No. 1
tray")
2) Remove the five screws [3], and remove the grate-shaped
upper guide [2].
g. Removal of No. 1 tray
CAUTION: Note for installing or moving the tray
When moving down the tray, push up the shutter [1],
and release the latch [2] on the lower surface of the tray
to lower the tray.
When the latch is released, the tray will free-fall. Hold
the tray with your hand during the removal.
1)
Remove the screw [1], and remove the metal plate [2] and the
slide guide [3]. If the grate-shaped upper guide has been
removed, this procedure is unnecessary.

Remove the screw [4], and remove the stopper [5].

3) Remove the two screws [6], open the harness holder [7] at
three positions, and disconnect the connector [8] at two posi-
tions.
4) Insert your finger into the hole in the back of the No. 1 tray [9].
Push the tray lift motor gear [10] toward you to release the
clutch, and lift the No. 1 tray [9].
CAUTION: When the clutch of the tray lift motor gear is released, it
falls by its own weight. When releasing the clutch, there-
fore, hold the tray at the bottom in advance. When
installing it, take care not to twist the tray cable.
h. Removal of No. 2 tray
CAUTION: Note for installing or moving the tray
When moving down the tray, push up the shutter [1],
and release the latch [2] on the lower surface of the tray
to lower the tray.
When the latch is released, the tray will free-fall. Hold
the tray with your hand during the removal.
1)
Remove the screw [1], and remove the stopper [2].
2)
Remove the two screws [3], and disconnect the connector [4].
3)
Insert your finger into the hole in the back of the No.2 tray [5].
Push the tray lift motor gear [6] toward you to release the
clutch, and lift the No.2 tray [5].
CAUTION: When the clutch of the tray lift motor gear is released, it
falls by its own weight. When releasing the clutch, there-
fore, hold the tray at the bottom in advance. When
installing it, take care not to twist the tray cable.

i. Removal of grate-shaped lower guide
1) Remove the ten screws [1], and remove the grate-shaped
lower guide [2].
CAUTION: When installing, be careful not to damage the grate-
shaped lower guide by hanging it to the sensor flag arm
on the delivery side.
j. Removal of stapler
1) Pull out the stapler, and remove the screw [1]. Then, remove
the PCB cover [2].
2) Release the pawl [3], and remove the PCB [4].
3) Disconnect the connectors [5] at three positions.
4) Remove the screw [6], and remove the stapler with the stapler
base [7].
CAUTION: When removing, be careful not to damage the flag [8].
5)
Turn back the stapler, and disconnect the connectors [9] at two
positions, and remove the two screws [10]. Then, remove the
stapler from the stapler base.
k. Removal of stapling tray
1)
Remove the snaps [1] at four positions, and remove the sensor
flag [3] from the delivery roller [2].
CAUTION: The sensor flag arm is easily broken. When removing it,
hold the base of the snap. When installing, insert the
projection of the snap of the sensor flag into the hole on
the stapling tray side.
2)
Remove the E-ring [4], gear [5], parallel pin [6], E-ring [7], and
the bearing [8] in front of the delivery roller.
CAUTION: When the gear [5] is removed, the parallel pin [6] falls.
Be careful not to lose it.

3) Disconnect all the connectors [9] of the finisher controller PCB.
4) Remove the four screws [10] to remove the finisher controller
PCB base [11].
5) Release the pawl [13] of the clutch [12] on the back of the
delivery roller, and remove the clutch [12].
6) Remove the E-ring [14] and the bearing [15], and remove the
delivery roller.
7) Disconnect the connector [16], and remove the harness from
the clamp and the edge saddle [17].
8) Remove the two screws [18], and pull out the stapling tray [19]
in the delivery direction.
CAUTION: When removing parts in the stapling tray, do not apply a
force to the alignment metal plates (front/back) and the
three positions on the rear edge regulation plate.
l. Removal of swing unit
1)
Remove the screw [1], and pull out the swing pressurizing
guide [2] upward.
2)
Remove the two E-rings [3] at the junction of the swing unit
and the return roller unit, and slide the two collars [4] of the
return roller unit to the inside. 
3)
Remove the swing pressurizing rack [5] from the hook at the
center of the swing unit. 
4)
Remove the belt from the gear [6] at the back of the swing unit,
and pull out the swing unit [7] in the delivery direction.
CAUTION: When the gear [6] is removed, the parallel pin [8] falls.
Be careful not to lose it.
m. Removal of return roller unit
1)
Disconnect the connector [1] in front of the return roller unit,
and remove the harness from the clamp [2]
2)
Remove the two screws [3], and pull out the return roller unit
[4] toward you.
