In certain circumstances when using a lesser quality feedstock POD2_S jams may occur 
with the paper stopping between the machine exit and dummy punch unit. 
 
To overcome this we have developed a local modification which should be implemented 
to prevent POD2_S occurring.  
This mod does not have a part number so is not available via an EPC order. 
 

Each machine will require two of the new Mylar's to be fitted in line with the upper exit 
rollers attached to the upper exit roller guide. 
 

1.  Reset any fuser temperature settings that have been adjusted in simulations back 

to factory defaults 
 

2.  Switch machine off 

  

3.  Remove the punch unit 

4.  Remove any previous modifications that have been carried out to the dummy 

punch unit 

 

5.  Ensure that the black foam rollers are removed from the white lower exit roller as 

per the MX-FN27 installation procedure

6.   Clean the flat black surface where the Mylars will be attached 

 

 

7.  Apply Mylar to the top exit guide lining up the edge of the double sided tape with 

the front edge of the guide, taking care not to trap static brush or foul the grey exit 
roller.

8.  Refit Punch Unit ensuring Mylar’s are not trapped. 
9.  Load Version 4 Firmware 
10. Test in all modes from all trays.
