1. Model Name:    MX-3500N – MX-3501N – MX-4500N – MX-4501N 
 
2. Symtom: 

The dimension at both ends of the waste toner drive fixing plate (plate) may become wider 
than the dimension between the bearings at both ends of the waste toner detect shaft due to 
manufacturing tolerance variations between the waste toner detect shaft and waste toner drive 
fixing plate. If this happens, "waste toner box full" may be detected incorrectly although the 
waste toner box is actually not full. This is because load occurs in the thrust direction of the 
waste toner detect shaft.

3. Description: 

We have changed the dimension of the waste toner detect shaft from 47.5 mm to 48.1 mm so 
that the dimension at both ends of the waste toner drive fixing plate (plate) will not become 
wider than the dimension between bearings at both ends of the waste toner detect shaft even if 
there are manufacturing tolerance variations between the waste toner detect shaft and waste

This glitch occurs during the production process, so we have taken the following interim 
measure: 
If this glitch occurs in the waste toner drive unit for which the interim measure has already 
been taken in the marketplace, replace the faulty drive unit with a new waste toner drive unit. 

Interim measure 

1.  Tighten the screw on the left side of the waste toner drive unit. 

 

 

 
2.  Move the protrusion of the main body to the right edge of the slotted hole on the right 

side of the waste toner drive unit and then fasten the drive unit with a screw.
