Fusing Control

In order to improve the quality of fusing, the factory default values of the following
Simulations have been changed.

Please note that Set values of Simulation will not be changed when upgrading the old
version to the new version, so please change the Set values.

After you change the Set values, please make sure to execute Sim46-24(Used to the
copy colour balance auto adjustment.) and Sim67-24(Use to execute the printer setting of
auto colour calibration.)

1) Sim44-04 (MX-3500/3501/4500/4501series)

when setting Sim55-01-2 to "000"

Correction of

the PaperJam

During the duplex job with feeding the paper from the Desk Unit, Toner replenishment
started, and the paper transport stopped over 28 seconds before the registration roller,
and then CPFD2_N4 JAM occurred. This glitch has been corrected.

Trouble code

Modification has been made not to notify U2-05 trouble (inconsistency of the contents of
HDD/Flash/EEPROM) which was ascribable to E7-03 trouble (HDD error) when E7-03
trouble occurred.

Others

In order to reduce the paper transport speed diffrence between the transfer system and
the fusing system, the factory default value of Sim48-6-C has been changed.

Please note that Set values of Simulation will not be changed when upgrading the old
version to the new version, so please change the Set values.

Supply

An improvement of the overtoner (Toner Leakage) when Heavy Paper is selected at low
speed mode has been made.

Improvement of the
noise

For Low-noise to be possible, modification has been made not to activate the cooling fan
of MFPC and HDD even if the accumulated time of the fan stop is over 30 minutes during
the Power Save Mode.

Correction of the
Paper Jam

When starting the print from PC while the main unit was in the preheat mode on the
system with Saddle Finisher, the PPD2_S1 jam occurred depending on the print timing.
This glitch has been corrected.

The firmware for the Saddle Finisher also needs to be changed to Ver.01.04.00 or later
version.

Copy

Modification "(No.23) Change of magnification with N-up and Border-Off" that has been
made on T/R No.CCE-363R was also reflected on the copy jobs with the card scan
function. This problem has been corrected.

Printer

Modification has been made to record that it is N-up in to the job log when selecting N-up
on the print job (PCL/PS).

Printer

The problem that the printer hung up when printing multiple copies with duplex on to the
paper types such as the printed paper and letterhead etc without using "Print per Unit"
has been corrected.

Scan to E-mail

If the "Custom" was selected as the server type on the Web Page when LDAP
authentication was enabled, not the e-mail address of log-in user but the SMTP reply
mail address was adopted as the Reply Mail Address. This problem has been corrected.

Scan to E-mail

If the line feed code was included when entering the Body Text of the Scan to E-mail, the
network communication error occurred, and e-mail could not be sent out. This problem
has been corrected. The problem does not arise on the mail server that LF of the line
code is supported.

Firmware Update

We announced in S/I No.CCE-381 that there were some cases where the back light of
LCD panel was not turned ON after start-up of the main unit, which caused the reboot
failure of the main unit when upgrading the firmware via USB, FTP or WEB Page, and
also the workaround for this case was provided. The correction has been made to reboot
the machine without failure. However this correction will be available after upgrading to
this version or later because the machine works with the new firmware after the reboot.

Picture Quality-
related

In order to improve the quality of the half-tone pictures when printed in the grey-scale
mode, we changed the screens for the grey-scale mode printing.

Adjustment-related

When the power is on, and in the case where the Process Control is not executed at the
reset time from the shut-off mode, we had set the system so that the resister adjustment
would be executed independently. We changed the system so that the resister
adjustment would not be executed, too.

Change of the default
value for volume of
the speakers

For Europe and North America, the default value for the volume of speakers has been
changed to turn down the volume.

Removal of the
detection if Web Unit
is installed

Assuming that the Web Unit would be CRU, detection of installation had been conducted
however the plan of CRU was cancelled so modification has been implemented to fix to
be the installation status all the time regardless of with/without Web Unit.

Countermeasure of
noise during standby

In order to reduce the noise, the fan for power unit has been stopped and the frequency
of rotary drive and duty for Ozone fan has been changed during standby mode.

Countermeasure of
F6-21 when
replacing the service
parts

When replacing ICU board of initial part at the market, "F6-21" (abnormal condition with
combination of TEL/LIU board and FAX Soft SW) occurred.
Modification has been implemented not to occur this "F6-21".

Incorrect total
colorcounter

When printing B/W TIFF image data in AUTO mode, it was counted as Colour even
though the print result was B/W.   Modification has been implemented to count the pixel
of the printed data and to count as colour only when CMY data exists.

Retry for E7-03 error

If CRC error (Cyclic Redundancy Check error) occurred when DMA access to HDD, it
used to be immediately processed as E7-03 error:
Modification has been implemented to avoid E7-03 error by adding a process that retries
the appropriate DMA packet.
