U2 Error Code Procedure & Best Practise 
MX‐2610N/MX‐311N (Aries) Procedure 
Must Complete the Following in Order; 
1.  Upgrade Firmware MX‐2610N/MX‐3110N (Firmware Version icu 05.00.A1_b0) 
2. 
Execute Simulation 16 U2 
Clear/Cancel 
3.  Format Hard Disk Drive – Execute Simulation 62-08 (Except System Area) 
4.  Execute Simulation 22-06 and Check Firmware Level 
5.  Execute Simulation 24-01 (Reset All) 
6.  Advise End-User On Correct Power Shutdown Procedure (See Below) 
There will be NO need to Clone the Machine as we are NOT formatting the System Area of the 
HDD.
 
 
If you are unable to access the Service Web Page or Admin Web Page the Hard Disk Drive is Corrupt, 
you will need to Execute Simulation 62-01 (Full Format). You will then need to configure ALL Web Page 
Settings (IP Address, SMTP Details, Equitrac URL’s, Machine Name and LDAP Settings) 
 
Please Note: The above Firmware will prevent the end-user from re-setting the U2 Error Codes by 
Powering Off/On; you will need to execute Simulation 16 to Clear/Cancel the error.

Please Change the following Soft Switch Settings; 
 
NIC Power Save Mode 
Execute Simulation 66-01 Soft Switch 92 
Change Bit 7 to 1 
 
Enable USB Card Reader (Fast Wakeup) 
Execute Simulation 55-03 Soft Switch 6 
Change Bit 8 to 1

Please Change the Following MFP Web Page Settings; 
 
Open a web browser and enter the following URL:-  
 
http://IP Address Of MFP/login.html?/main.html
 
 
Energy Save > Power Management Settings 
 
Uncheck - Turn Off Panel Display During Pre-Heat Mode (See Below) 
 
 
 
Energy Save > Power Management Settings 
 
Change Sleep Mode Power Level – Fast Wakeup (See Below)

Stop MFP Recording Sys Log – Change to Disable (See Below)

Correct Power On/Off Procedure; 
 
Please Note: - If the Procedure below Is NOT followed you will corrupt the Hard Disk Driver, this in turn 
will cause U2 Error Codes.
