(2) Attach the B/W scanner module/DSPF to the 
main unit.
1) Cut and remove the two cut-out portions from the rear of the upper
cabinet of the main unit using a tool such as diagonal cutting tool.
2) Attach the two RADF mounting screws to the mounting holes pre-
pared in 1).
3) Lift the B/W scanner module/DSPF, fit the holes in the hinge sec-
tions of the B/W scanner module/DSPF to the RADF mounting
screws that have been attached in 2), move the B/W scanner mod-
ule/DSPF toward the front, and secure it with the two RADF secur-
ing screws.
(3) Adjust the angle of the B/W scanner module/
DSPF.
Loosen the two angle adjusting plate securing screws on the hinge
angles. While raising the angle adjusting plates to the limit as shown in
the illustration, tighten the loosened screws.
Note: Be sure to check that the projections on the angle adjusting
plates are inserted securely into the long holes of the hinges.
(4) Connect the RADF connectors.
1) Remove the screw from the connector cover on the rear side of the
main unit and then remove the connector cover.
2) Connect the RADF connector to the connector of the main unit and
tighten the screw on the connector to secure it.

(5) Attach the exit tray.
Attach the exit tray to the right side of the RADF.

If another peripheral device must be installed, carry out the fol-
lowing steps at the end of the installation work.
Insert the power plug of the main unit to the outlet and turn on the main
switch.
Since adjustment has been made at shipping, adjustment is normally
not needed here. If the center or original front end should be displaced,
however, carry out the following steps to adjust.
(6) Carry out the off center adjustment.
Place an original in the document feeder tray and make a copy.
If the center of the copy is displaced as shown in Fig. 1 or Fig. 2,
loosen the two tray securing screws and move the document feeder
tray in direction A or direction B to adjust the center.
After adjustment is complete, be sure to tighten the tray securing
screws.
• In the case of displacement shown in Fig. 1
Loosen the two tray securing screws and move the document feeder
tray in direction A.
Tighten the two tray securing screws and make a copy again to
check that the center is not displaced.
• In the case of displacement shown in Fig. 2
Loosen the two tray securing screws and move the document feeder
tray in direction B.
Tighten the two tray securing screws and make a copy again to
check that the center is not displaced.
(7) Adjust the original front end stop position.
• The original front end stop position can be adjusted with simulation
53.
• Although the stop position is set to (8) at shipping, adjustment may
be needed depending on the original.
• The adjustable range is 8 mm toward the original size indicator plate
and 7 mm toward the document glass. The position can be adjusted
in 1 mm increments. The adjustment can be set for the single-sided
mode and the two-sided mode respectively.
• Use the touch panel and the keys on the main unit to set the mode.
• Then use the touch panel and the keys on the main unit to perform
various settings.
