Subject: Setting up Machine for AR-451DR 100K PM Cycle.
Description: A 100K PM Cycle drum is now available for use in the above listed machines.
Note: The AR-451DR is standard on ARM350/450U and N version.
The PM cycle for these models is 100K.

The following 4 requirements Must be met to adopt the 100K PM Cycle.
To determine if the machine is already configured for the 100K PM Cycle,
you must confirm all 4 of the following requirements.
1) Engine Firmware must be at version A.08 (Main) or higher.

The 100K Drum (AR-451DR) must be installed in the machine.
The AR-451DR can be identified by a white mark on the rear side flange
and by the aluminum base being slightly exposed on the front side as
shown in the pictures below.

The 100K Drum Seperation Pawls included in the AR-451DR must be
installed in the machine.

Note: Initially the new style Drum Seperation Pawls (DUNT-0083YSZZ)
will only be included in the package of the AR-451DR.
Do not use the old style Drum Seperation Pawls included in the AR-450KC kit.
Using the old style Drum Seperator Pawls will reduce the life of the 100K Drum.

June 2002 production.

Important:
It is highly recommended that the developer also be replaced at the time of
adopting the AR-451DR 100K PM Cycle so that the drum and developer
maintenance cycles coencide with each other. If the machine is in the middle of
its developer life cycle, you may elect to use the 50K drum untill the developer life
is over. At that time you may change to the 100K PM cycle. If no 50K drums are
available to you, it is recommended that you replace the DV when changing to the
100K PM cycle.
