Demonstration Mode for the AR-NS1 Scanner

Overview: 

This bulletin explains how to enable the “Demo Scanner Mode” on the 
AR287/337/407 & 507 Cougar series models. 

 
This is intended to enable temporary scanner function without entering a 
Product Key so that the copier can be demonstrated with full functionality. 
(500 Scans Maximum). 

 

Prerequisite:   

1. AR-PB2a print controller with minimum 48MB RAM

2. AR-NC3D network card with the latest firmware version. 

 
Procedure: 

 

The demo version is an ICU Firmware update and is compatible with the

1. 

Update the ICU firmware version as shown above. (PCU & OPE may 
also require upgrading). 

2. 

Enter Test Simulation 26-44 and set “B” to 20. 

3. 

Exit Test Simulation and reboot the copier. 

 
Following the set-up of destinations etc, scanning can be performed as 
normal for AR-NS1. When the scan counter has reached 500, the copier will 
display “Not Ready” and the “Start” button will be disabled for scanning only. 
Copying and Printing will still function. 

 

Note:  It is recommended to return the ICU firmware back to standard 

production version following the completion of 500 scans.
