5. The Wizard will now request the communications port:
NOTE:
LPT1 through LPT3 are local parallel ports.  COM1 through COM4 are local serial ports.  LPT1
would be chosen if the AR-PB2 was connected directly to this workstation with a parallel cable.
Click the Add Port button to add a network port as a doorway to the AR-PB2/+ and ARNC1D/3D.
6. A list of available printer ports is displayed.  Double click on LPR Port.  If the LPR Port is not
available, the TCP/IP Printing Service is not installed.  TCP/IP Printing Service is installed from
the Control Panels/Network utility, under the Services tab.  If this service has to be installed, the
Windows NT CD will be required, and the files server will require rebooting.
7. An LPR setting window will show up requiring two fields, the IP address of the ARNC1D/3D and
the Printer Queue name.
Use the following steps to check / set an IP address and subnet address on the ARNC1D/3D
network interface card.
With the AR-PB2/+ and the ARNC1D/3D installed in the copier, press the following keys on the
copiers operation panel, in the order shown.
PRINT -> OFFLINE-> MENU-> NETWORK-> SETTING-> IP ADDRESS SETTING
IP SUBNET ADDRESS
IP GATEWAY ADDRESS

Use the keypad to enter the four octets in the IP address and use the arrow keys (light/dark)
to move between octets.  Do the same procedure to enter the Subnet and Gateway
addresses.  Hit OKAY three times when done to return to the main menu.
Enter the IP address for the ARNC1D/3D and PORT1 for the print queue name on the PC.
“PORT1” should always be used and set in capitals for the printer queue name on the
ARNC1D/3D.  When finished, click OK, and then click Close.  Click Next to go to the next page in
the Wizard.

8. The next step is to load the Sharp Print Driver.  Click Have Disk and insert the Sharp Windows
Driver diskette into the floppy disk drive:
9. Double Click on the Sharp specific PPD (Sharp ARPB2).  This will begin the file transfer of the
necessary files from the floppy drive to the NT system area:

10. The next window will allow you to enter a name for the printer or keep the default name.  This
name will appear in the printers list when selecting printers from within an application.  You may
also choose to make this the default printer for all Windows programs from this screen.  Enter the
printer name and click Next:
11. Next, there will be an option to enable sharing of this printer on the NT network.  For NT
Workstation installation, this will usually be Not Shared.  Server installation will usually be
Shared:
NOTE:   With sharing enabled, it is necessary to choose a Share Name, preferably under 11
characters.  It is also possible to load additional drivers for the NT printer server to store.  These
possible alternatives include Windows 95.  Installing Windows 95 drivers at this point will mean
that as printers are added on Windows 95 workstations, the driver disk will not be required as the
driver is downloaded automatically from the server.  To install a Windows 95 driver highlight
Shared, input a share name, highlight Windows95 and then click on next.  You will be prompted to
insert the Windows 95 driver disk.
